More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Choosing the right ITIL practice is only the beginning. CAI preparation also requires you to distinguish responsibilities, interpret performance evidence, and decide how a practice should contribute to a service value stream. These independent practice tests are designed to help you work through those decisions in English.

The course focuses on the five practices assessed by the ITIL 4 Specialist: Collaborate, Assure and Improve examination: Relationship Management, Supplier Management, Service Level Management, Continual Improvement, and Information Security Management. Practice scenarios connect terminology with the conditions that make one action more appropriate than another. Review the reasoning behind each choice, including why a plausible alternative does not fit the situation.

The course contains 360 original questions: four 60-question practice sets for study, followed by two separate 60-question timed simulations. Each question includes feedback for every option, an overall explanation, and a study tip. The practice sets allow 120 minutes for learning; the simulations use the published 90-minute examination timing. Use the simulations closed-book before reading the explanations.

A deliberate practice routine

  • Work through the focused practice before using the timed simulations.
  • For each uncertain answer, identify the requirement, responsibility or constraint that influenced your choice.
  • Read the feedback for the other options as well as the correct answer.
  • Revisit the corresponding section of your official learning materials, then explain how a different condition would change your decision.

The timed simulations follow the published examination structure: 60 single-answer questions in 90 minutes, with 12 questions for each of the five practices. The practice threshold is 65%, corresponding to 39 correct answers out of 60. Practice results help you identify areas to revisit; they do not predict an official examination result.

This is an independent examination preparation resource. It is not accredited training, is not endorsed by PeopleCert, and does not replace the required accredited training or ITIL Official eLearning. Confirm your eligibility directly with PeopleCert before booking. Current certification requirements include ITIL Foundation (any version) or the ITIL 4 Managing Professional certificate and completion of the required training.

This course targets ITIL 4 CAI. PeopleCert currently plans to sunset ITIL 4 modules on 31 December 2027; check the provider's current arrangements before choosing an examination date.
