More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing a contract term is only the beginning. In L4M3, you also need to distinguish an offer from an invitation, read the conditions attached to an obligation, and decide whether the evidence actually demonstrates compliance. A low unit price, a signed certificate or a favourable KPI can each hide a different commercial problem.

These 360 original English practice questions help you work through those decisions. Scenarios cover contract documentation and formation, frameworks and call-offs, specifications, service levels, contractual terms, risk allocation and pricing. Each question includes an explanation of the answer, feedback for every option and a short study tip to guide your next revision.

Four focused tests

  • Formation and contract documentation: agreement, authority, competing forms, oral evidence, misrepresentation and CISG formation rules.
  • Contract arrangements and specifications: one-off purchases, frameworks, services and leasing, followed by clear requirements and acceptance evidence.
  • Performance measures and contractual terms: KPI definitions, service clocks, quality and cost measures, express and implied terms, standard conditions and model forms.
  • Risk allocation and pricing: indemnities, liability limits, insurance, guarantees, subcontracting, labour and environmental commitments, and commercial payment mechanisms.

Two integrated mock tests

Each mock contains 60 questions with a 90-minute limit and a 70% practice pass setting. The mocks combine the three L4M3 learning outcomes through different evidence, boundary and calculation tasks. Their outcome allocation is author-defined; it is not a claim about official question quotas or examination difficulty. The 90-minute limits on the focused tests are suggested study settings.

Learn from the tempting alternatives

Worked calculations distinguish a cap from a claim amount, a fixed rate from a fixed total, and gross savings from the amount eligible for gain-share. Contract questions identify their legal context where it matters, including English-law formation principles and the CISG. Feedback explains why an alternative fails under the stated conditions, rather than simply labelling it incorrect.

Start with the focused test matching your weakest area. Attempt questions before reading feedback, record the rule or evidence you missed, then return to your study material. Use the integrated mocks later to practise choosing between plausible alternatives within a timed session.

The scope follows the CIPS Level 4 syllabus currently linked by CIPS when checked in October 2026. This is independent practice material, not an official CIPS course or a collection of actual examination questions. Practice scores do not guarantee an examination result.
