  • Distinguish SIR roles, components, incident evidence and visualization scope.
  • Select appropriate creation, major-incident and threat-intelligence handling decisions.
  • Diagnose integration availability, typed parameters, transformations and feed-state boundaries.
  • Evaluate workspace access, assignment eligibility, security tags and permitted state transitions.
  • Apply legacy and new risk-scoring rules and assess PIR and Event Management conditions.
  • Trace automation inputs, outputs, branches and verified response outcomes.
  • Evaluate PAD playbooks, runbook applicability and user-reported phishing evidence.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

An integration can be installed yet unable to retrieve data. A response action can finish without containing the intended host. A phishing report can be aggregated while the exposed-user investigation remains incomplete. CIS-SIR preparation requires distinguishing these conditions and choosing the next useful configuration or evidence check.

Practice those decisions with 360 original questions in six tests. Each question includes an explanation of the answer, feedback for every option, and a study prompt. The coverage follows the January 2026 CIS-SIR exam blueprint, using the Zurich product documentation it recommends.

What the six tests cover

  • Practice 1 — Foundations and investigation: components and roles, visual evidence, incident creation, major incidents, threat intelligence and MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Practice 2 — Integrations and configuration: Store and Share, capabilities, custom integration inputs, TISC feeds, workspace access, assignment, tags and process definitions.
  • Practice 3 — Risk, review and response: legacy and new scoring, post-incident reviews, Event Management and response-automation decisions.
  • Practice 4 — Playbooks and phishing: reusable flows, PAD activities, runbook guidance, reporting, aggregation, predictive intelligence and verdict inputs.
  • Mocks 1 and 2: separate 60-question mixed tests, each with a 90-minute limit and domain counts rounded from the published weights.

The four focused tests each contain 60 questions and allow 120 minutes for deliberate practice. The two mocks each contain 60 questions. Single-answer and specified-count multiple-select questions are included across the course.

Turn feedback into a study plan

  1. Work through the focused tests and record the condition you missed, such as a disabled prerequisite, a mismatched input or an unsupported inference.
  2. Read the feedback for incorrect options, including when your answer was correct.
  3. Explain how a change in the incident state, evidence window, role, rule order or action outcome would change your decision.
  4. Take each mock in one 90-minute sitting, then revisit the relevant official documentation before another attempt.

An 80% practice target helps structure revision. It is a course setting, not ServiceNow's official passing score; the public blueprint does not disclose that score.

AI assisted question and explanation development. These are independently authored practice questions, not actual exam items. The course is not affiliated with or endorsed by ServiceNow or MITRE. It is a practice-test course with explanations, rather than video lessons or access to a ServiceNow lab. It focuses on SIR; Vulnerability Response remediation, scanner rollups and USEM certification content are outside its scope.

A monitoring tool detects malware. The team needs coordinated investigation, containment, recovery, and review. Which ServiceNow application owns this response lifecycle?

Before you begin

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow navigation, records, roles and basic security-incident workflows.
  • Basic knowledge of CMDB/CSDM concepts and incident-response terminology.
  • Consult current official registration requirements before booking CIS-SIR; the January 2026 blueprint requires CIS Data Foundations beforehand.
  • No lab instance is included; an available SIR-enabled instance can support your own hands-on study.

Who this is for

  • Implementers preparing for CIS-SIR who need practice applying SIR configuration rules.
  • Security Operations analysts or administrators connecting product concepts with implementation decisions.
  • Learners who have studied the official materials and want focused drills followed by timed mixed practice.
