  • Predict stored document state after inserts, replacements, patches, upserts and conditional concurrent operations.
  • Determine exact query matches across BSON types, arrays, ranges, logical conditions and same-element requirements.
  • Trace sorted result windows, projection fields, cursor consumption and count result shapes.
  • Select MongoDB Search definitions and queries, and calculate group, lookup and output-stage outcomes.
  • Evaluate scalar, multikey and compound index choices using stated requirements and explain-plan evidence.
  • Distinguish embedding, references, historical snapshots and unbounded-data modeling risks.
  • Compare official driver APIs in Python, Node.js, Java, C# and PHP, with complete timed practice for Python and Node.js.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A query can run and still select the wrong documents. An index can appear in an explain report without being the winning plan. A driver call can use a valid filter and return a cursor when your code expects a document. This course helps you practice those distinctions through explicit scenarios, concrete data and explanations for every option.

330 original questions in six tests support preparation for the MongoDB Associate Developer certification. The scope follows the current official Associate Developer Exam Guide checked on October 14, 2026, including MongoDB Search index definitions and queries. The guide does not publish a numbered exam revision; this course does not present the legacy C100DEV label as a current exam code.

Your practice route

  • Four progressive practice sets, 56 questions each: build foundations, work through query matches and result shapes, interpret Search and aggregation, and compare driver syntax and write boundaries.
  • Python timed mock, 53 questions in 75 minutes: combine all six official domains with synchronous PyMongo driver tasks.
  • Node.js timed mock, 53 questions in 75 minutes: apply the same domain coverage to different conditions, including asynchronous driver results and cursor handling.

The four practice sets use a generous 100-minute practice window. Both timed mocks use a 4/27/9/2/1/10 question allocation across document overview, CRUD, indexes, modeling, tools and drivers, respectively. This is our rounded training allocation based on the official domain weights, not an official per-objective quota. The real exam may include additional unscored items.

What you will work through

Predict document state after replacement, partial updates, upserts and conditional concurrent writes. Compute exact match sets for array equality, ranges, logical expressions and same-element predicates. Trace sort windows, projections, cursor consumption and filtered counts. Interpret Search mappings, compound queries, grouping, joins and output replacement. Choose indexes under stated constraints and distinguish index availability, actual use, coverage and measured work.

The progressive sets include Python, Node.js, Java Sync Driver, C# and PHP questions. The two complete timed mocks are specifically Python and Node.js routes. Java, C# and PHP are supplementary driver practice within the progressive sets. Choose the route matching your preparation needs and pay attention to each question's stated language and API context.

Learn from each decision

Every question has an answer rationale, feedback for each option and a focused study tip. Review why an alternative fails, then revisit the related rule before repeating a test. Single-answer questions and multiple-response questions asking you to choose two or three answers are included. Use the four sets to resolve mistakes before attempting a timed mock without notes.

The 80% passing threshold is a self-selected practice goal, not MongoDB's official passing score. A practice score does not guarantee certification success. Exam registration, vouchers, official training, videos and a hosted lab are not included; a MongoDB deployment is optional for your own experiments. Code examples were checked against official documentation and syntax; database execution was not performed for this course's examples.

This is an independent BrightRung Learning practice course. It is not an official MongoDB product, is not endorsed by MongoDB, and contains no claimed real or leaked exam questions. Check MongoDB's current registration information before booking your chosen driver route.

An audit record needs a UTC event instant with millisecond precision. Which BSON type directly represents that value?

Before you begin

  • Basic familiarity with documents, collections, JSON-style objects and simple application code.
  • Some prior MongoDB study; these are practice tests rather than a first-time video tutorial.
  • Familiarity with the driver language you intend to use; each code question identifies its API context.
  • No paid deployment is required to take the tests. Your own MongoDB environment is optional for additional practice.

Who this is for

  • Developers preparing for the MongoDB Associate Developer certification in English.
  • Python or Node.js developers seeking a full timed practice route alongside topic practice.
  • Java, C# or PHP developers seeking supplementary driver questions and shared MongoDB fundamentals.
  • Learners who want to explain query results and write outcomes rather than memorize isolated commands.
