Check the provider’s current objectives before booking your exam. This is independent practice material.

  • Choose extension boundaries from transaction, identity, consistency and user-experience requirements.
  • Diagnose client-script, PCF and code-app integration problems using their supported contracts.
  • Reason about Dataverse plug-ins, custom APIs, concurrency, throttling and asynchronous workloads.
  • Evaluate MCP authentication, connected agents and preview Work IQ business-skill requirements.
  • Plan event delivery, change tracking, alternate-key synchronization and custom connector contracts.
  • Review weak areas using option-level feedback, overall explanations and targeted study tips.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Choosing a Power Platform extension is only the beginning. You also need to know which identity runs it, where a transaction ends, what a generated interface supports, and how to recover when a deployment or integration fails. These practice questions help you connect those implementation decisions to the AB-400 scope effective October 16, 2026.

Practice across the new developer scope

The course contains 360 original English questions in six tests. The first four provide focused practice; the final two combine the four domains in the published weighting ranges.

  • Test 1 — Architecture, ALM and code-app foundations: 65 questions.
  • Test 2 — Client scripting, PCF and code-app implementation: 65 questions.
  • Test 3 — Dataverse plug-ins, APIs, Azure Functions and automation: 65 questions.
  • Test 4 — MCP, connected agents, Work IQ business skills and integrations: 65 questions.
  • Test 5 — Integrated design decisions: 50 questions.
  • Test 6 — Diagnosis and recovery decisions: 50 questions.

Each answer option has feedback explaining why it fits or fails under the stated conditions. Overall explanations connect the correct choice to the requirement, and study tips identify the concept to revisit. Scenarios include managed solution layers, sparse updates, concurrency, throttling, component lifecycle, generated service contracts, OAuth boundaries and asynchronous outcomes. Preview-specific questions explicitly identify their preview context.

Use the tests to improve your reasoning

  1. Attempt a focused test and record the constraints you overlooked.
  2. Read the feedback for the alternatives as well as the correct answer.
  3. Revisit the relevant Microsoft documentation and try the scenario in your own permitted development environment.
  4. Take the integrated tests under their time limits, then review the reasoning behind each missed decision.

Focused tests use 130 minutes; integrated tests use 100 minutes. The 80% target is an author-set practice goal. The two 50-question tests are text-only mock-style practice, not a claim about AB-400's exact question count or format. Microsoft reports scaled scores; this practice percentage does not convert to the official passing score. The course does not simulate interactive labs.

This is independent exam preparation based on the published AB-400 scope, rather than a relabeled PL-400 package. It contains no official or recalled exam questions and offers no pass guarantee. It is not endorsed by Microsoft. AI assisted the creation of questions, explanations and the course image; the content was checked against the cited scope and technical documentation. This is a practice-question course, so it is best used alongside documentation and hands-on study.

Choose one answer1 of 3

An order total must be rejected for every caller when it exceeds the stored credit limit. Imports and a code app both create orders. Where should the authoritative check run?

Before you begin

  • Working familiarity with Power Apps, Dataverse and Power Automate.
  • Basic JavaScript or TypeScript, C# and REST API knowledge; basic Python is useful for SDK scenarios.
  • Use current Microsoft documentation alongside the questions; preview features can change.
  • No tenant or Azure subscription is needed to take the tests. A permitted development environment is useful for separate hands-on study.

Who this is for

  • Power Platform developers preparing for the AB-400 scope effective October 16, 2026.
  • Developers moving from PL-400 study who need practice on code apps, agents, MCP and Work IQ.
  • App and integration developers who want to improve implementation and troubleshooting decisions.
  • Learners who already know the platform basics and want focused practice rather than a beginner video tutorial.
