  • Trace branches, loops, recursion and exception paths in short programs.
  • Select data structures, test types and lifecycle actions from practical constraints.
  • Distinguish encapsulation, composition, inheritance, overloading and overriding.
  • Diagnose web requests, browser state, service payloads and architecture responsibilities.
  • Reason about keys, normalization, SQL joins, transactions and database access choices.
  • Use two timed mixed mocks to identify objectives that need more study.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing the definition of inheritance is different from tracing a virtual method call. Remembering JOIN syntax is different from choosing a query that keeps customers with no orders. These questions help you practise those decisions across the Pearson IT Specialist Software Development objectives.

320 original English questions in six tests cover core programming, software development principles, object-oriented programming, web applications, and databases. The scope follows the currently linked 2025 objective document, including asynchronous patterns, AI-assisted approach research, secure coding, web architecture, transactions, Entity Framework and NoSQL choices.

Work from focused practice to timed decisions

  • Test 1: 60 questions on storage, algorithms, control flow, exceptions, debugging and functional patterns.
  • Test 2: 60 questions on lifecycle, requirements, data structures, version control and secure coding.
  • Test 3: 60 questions combining class design and polymorphism with introductory web application decisions.
  • Test 4: 60 questions combining web hosting, services and architecture with relational and NoSQL database decisions.
  • Tests 5 and 6: two different 40-question, 50-minute mixed mocks.

Every question includes an explanation for each option, a worked decision rationale, and a study suggestion. Code questions use foundational C# or JavaScript; SQL questions state the relevant schema and assumptions; one stored-procedure example explicitly identifies SQL Server syntax. No external account or paid lab is required to answer them.

Try the focused tests first, explain why each distractor fails, then attempt each mock without notes. An 80% practice target is a course-defined study aid. It is not equivalent to the official scaled passing value of 700, and results do not predict certification success. The official exam currently lists 35–45 questions in 50 minutes; exact forms and delivery interfaces may vary.

This is an independent practice resource. It does not include an exam voucher, official exam questions, or certification. Pearson, Certiport and their marks belong to their respective owners; no affiliation or endorsement is claimed. The course is taught in English; confirm the current exam language and delivery availability with your testing centre.
