  • Distinguish IDP package availability, rule scope, terminal behavior, active inspection and prevention evidence.
  • Trace IPsec negotiation, protected selectors, st0 routing, translation effects and bidirectional traffic evidence.
  • Evaluate ATP file eligibility, verdict thresholds, fallback limitations and feed-based remediation.
  • Reason about chassis-cluster ownership, monitored failures, fabric paths and live-state continuity.
  • Diagnose JIMS collection, transport, mapping freshness and identity-policy consumption.
  • Select SSL proxy trust and credential roles, and assess certificate or application compatibility limits.
  • Separate Security Director discovery, policy intent, publication, device update and runtime verification.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A tunnel can be established while its traffic still fails. A threat can be detected while the enforcing firewall never receives the right feed. A policy can be saved while the device continues using an earlier configuration. This practice course helps you distinguish those states and choose the next useful configuration check or piece of evidence.

Prepare for the Security, Specialist (JNCIS-SEC) JN0-336 objectives with 330 original questions across six tests, using the published Junos OS 24.4 exam baseline. The questions connect SRX security services with actual packet direction, policy scope, certificates, identity mappings, synchronization and management workflow.

Build your judgment in four focused tests

  • IDP and site-to-site VPNs: package lifecycle, rule scope, service selection, negotiation, selectors and routed tunnel evidence.
  • Remote access and ATP Cloud: Secure Connect dependencies, file eligibility, verdicts, fallback, security feeds, ETI, DNS/IoT and remediation.
  • Clustering and identity: redundancy-group ownership, monitored failures, real-time state, JIMS transports and user/IP/group decisions.
  • SSL proxy and Security Director: trust on both TLS legs, credential roles, compatibility limits, device onboarding and policy deployment.

Each focused test contains 50 questions. Its 75-minute limit is a course practice setting, allowing you to work through explanations and identify weak areas.

Apply the rules in two timed mock exams

Each mock contains 65 questions with a 90-minute limit, matching the published exam question count and duration. The mocks use combinations of conditions, boundary cases and fault evidence; the second includes explicitly counted multi-select questions. Their domain allocation is independently designed because Juniper does not publish domain weights. The course uses an 80% training target, which is not an official Juniper passing score.

Every question provides feedback for every option, a reasoned overall explanation, a study suggestion and official documentation links for further reading. Work through the focused tests first. Before reading an explanation, state the decisive condition in your own words; then use the mocks to check whether you can apply it in a different configuration or failure state.

This is an independent practice-question course, not an official Juniper exam or a collection of recalled exam questions. It contains question-based configuration and troubleshooting exercises; live labs, SRX access and a VPN client are not included. No score or certification outcome is guaranteed.

An SRX downloads an IDP security package successfully. The displayed attack database version remains unchanged. Which step should be checked next?

Before you begin

  • Working knowledge of basic Junos CLI, SRX zones, security policies, IP addressing and routing.
  • Familiarity with JNCIA-SEC-level security concepts; the official JNCIS-SEC exam lists JNCIA-SEC as its prerequisite certification.
  • Ability to read English technical scenarios and short configuration fragments.
  • No live SRX device is required to answer these practice questions.

Who this is for

  • JNCIS-SEC candidates preparing for the current JN0-336 security specialist objectives.
  • SRX administrators who want practice choosing evidence and correcting security-service configuration gaps.
  • Networking professionals moving from associate-level recognition toward specialist configuration and troubleshooting judgment.
