Overview
What you’ll practice
Questions and explanations: American English
Check the provider’s current objectives before booking your exam. This is independent practice material.
- Calculate IPv4 subnet boundaries and evaluate IPv6 prefixes and address notation.
- Distinguish Routing Engine responsibilities, Packet Forwarding Engine forwarding, and packet exceptions.
- Interpret CLI context, candidate configuration, load operations, comparisons, and commit timing.
- Select appropriate account permissions, authentication behavior, interface settings, and management services.
- Use operational evidence to investigate interface errors, reachability, upgrades, and recovery requirements.
- Apply route preference, longest-prefix matching, and routing-instance context in the correct order.
- Trace routing-policy terms, prefix conditions, stateless filter actions, and reverse-path checks.
- Review incorrect answers by identifying the condition that rules out each alternative.
More about this course
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
Knowing a Junos command is only part of exam preparation. You also need to recognize its configuration context, distinguish a candidate change from an active change, and trace what happens when routes or packets encounter several decisions. These practice tests help you work through those distinctions before attempting the JNCIA-Junos JN0-106 exam.
350 questions across six tests provide a structured route from focused review to mixed practice. The course follows the seven published JN0-106 objective areas and uses Junos OS 21.2 as its software reference.
Start with focused practice
The first four tests contain 55 questions each:
- Networking and Junos architecture: addressing, subnetting, Ethernet, longest-prefix matching, class of service, and control versus forwarding responsibilities.
- CLI and basic configuration: navigation, help, loading and comparing configuration, accounts, authentication, interfaces, management services, and recovery baselines.
- Operations and routing: monitoring, counters, reachability tools, software maintenance, routing tables, route preference, routing instances, and static or dynamic design choices.
- Routing policy and firewall filters: default behavior, import and export, ordered evaluation, prefix conditions, packet matching, filter attachment, and reverse-path checks.
Then combine the decisions
Two additional tests contain 65 questions with a 90-minute limit each, matching the published exam question count and time allowance. They mix the objective areas through calculations, configuration interpretation, state changes, and troubleshooting scenarios. The domain distribution is a course design choice; Juniper does not publish domain percentage weights on the current exam overview.
Every question includes an explanation for each option, a combined explanation of the answer, and a short review tip. Use the incorrect options to identify the specific assumption that failed: an unresolved next hop, a wrong configuration hierarchy, a prefix outside a match range, or a terminal action that prevented later evaluation.
Use your results to guide study
Complete the focused tests first, review each missed decision, and then attempt a mixed test without notes. Before a retake, explain why every incorrect option fails instead of memorizing an answer's position. The 80% target is a self-study benchmark, not Juniper's official passing score. A strong practice result cannot guarantee an examination outcome.
This is an English practice-test course, without video lessons or an included router lab. Command examples illustrate the targeted Junos syntax and concepts; actual execution and recovery steps can depend on hardware and release. Pair your practice with Juniper's official learning materials and, where available, an authorized lab.
