  • Distinguish model concepts, context limitations and visual evidence relevant to GenAI-assisted testing.
  • Build and assess structured prompts using the six components, examples, chaining and meta prompting.
  • Apply GenAI to requirement analysis, test design, regression work, monitoring and test control.
  • Evaluate generated testware using correctness, precision, recall, diversity, execution and useful-effort measures.
  • Identify unsupported claims, reasoning mistakes, coverage bias and data-handling risks in testing outputs.
  • Explain RAG, agents, fine-tuning, operational responsibilities and a governed adoption roadmap.
  • Practice the CT-GenAI v1.1 objective distribution in two 40-question, 60-minute mock tests.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

An AI-generated test can look convincing and still use the wrong rule, miss a dependency or hide an important coverage gap. This practice course helps you make the testing decisions behind those outputs: what evidence to provide, which prompting method fits the task, and what to verify before using the result.

Prepare for ISTQB Certified Tester Specialist Level — Testing with Generative AI (CT-GenAI), syllabus v1.1 with 320 original questions across six practice tests. The focus is using GenAI to support software testing. Testing AI-based systems themselves belongs to the separate CT-AI qualification.

What the six tests cover

  • Foundations and Prompt Construction — 60 questions: AI approaches, tokens and context, model capabilities, multimodal evidence, chatbot versus integrated-tool interaction, and structured prompts.
  • Apply GenAI to Testing Tasks — 80 questions: requirement analysis, case and data design, dependency scheduling, regression maintenance, test monitoring and control, technique selection, evaluation metrics and prompt refinement.
  • Risks, Privacy and Responsible Use — 60 questions: hallucinations, reasoning errors, bias, sampling variability, sensitive-data handling, security threats, resource consumption and governance references.
  • Infrastructure and Organizational Adoption — 40 questions: application architecture, RAG, agents, fine-tuning, LLMOps, model selection, adoption phases and team responsibilities.
  • Timed Mock 1 and Timed Mock 2 — 40 questions each: five-chapter exams with the official per-objective allocation and K1/K2/K3 balance, plus different applied conditions in the second mock.

Every question includes an explanation for each option, a reasoned overall answer and a focused study suggestion. Cases ask you to check concrete evidence: an inclusive limit, an overriding rule, a missing prerequisite, a changed denominator, an inapplicable retrieved passage or an unauthorized agent action. Numerical rates and energy factors are stated hypothetical assumptions, rather than claims about current vendors.

A practical way to study

  1. Start with the four topic sets and keep track of the decision rules you miss.
  2. Read all option feedback, including for correct answers, and revisit the relevant official syllabus section.
  3. Attempt each mock in a fresh 60-minute session before reviewing explanations.
  4. Check whether you can solve the changed condition, rather than remembering the wording of an earlier question.

Scoring and timing: the official CT-GenAI exam has 40 questions, 60 minutes and 46 available points, with 30 points required to pass. Eligible candidates taking a non-native-language exam may receive a 25% extension. These practice mocks use a 60-minute timer and Udemy's equal item scoring with a 65% training threshold. Their percentage result does not reproduce the official weighted pass calculation.

This is an independent practice-question course, not an accredited ISTQB training course, official exam or exam dump. It does not include an exam voucher or promise a passing result. A defect triage tool applies explicit IF severity=critical THEN notify rules without learning from examples. Which AI family describes this mechanism?

Before you begin

  • Familiarity with Foundation Level testing concepts and basic test-design techniques.
  • Access to the current official CT-GenAI v1.1 syllabus for further study.
  • Read the complete scenario and evaluate its stated rules before choosing an answer.
  • No paid AI account or specialized client is required to take these practice tests. Official exam entry requires the CTFL certificate; this course does not issue that certification.

Who this is for

  • Testers and test analysts preparing for the English CT-GenAI v1.1 exam.
  • Test automation engineers who want to review AI-generated cases, data, scripts and reports more carefully.
  • Test managers and quality professionals evaluating GenAI use, operational controls and team adoption.
  • Developers and business analysts involved in supplying or reviewing the test basis for AI-assisted testing.
