  • Apply domain and combinatorial testing to precise boundaries, constraints and coverage gaps.
  • Analyze CRUD consistency, state-transition sequences and scenario paths.
  • Build and evaluate decision tables and justified metamorphic relations.
  • Prepare focused exploratory charters and maintain useful experience-based checklists.
  • Assess regression impact, testware quality and test-data or environment requirements.
  • Identify specification defects and interpret defect-detection evidence without overstating coverage.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing a technique's name is easier than deciding which inputs, paths and evidence will expose a fault. This practice course helps you make those decisions for the ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Analyst (CTAL-TA) v4.0 syllabus.

Work through 360 English questions in six tests. Each question includes an explanation of the correct answer, feedback on every distractor and a study tip. Tasks include choosing ON/OFF points with explicit precision, checking constrained combinations, tracing transition sequences, minimizing decision tables, evaluating metamorphic relations and investigating gaps in defect detection.

Four focused practice tests

  • Process, Testware and Risk Decisions: 80 questions.
  • Data and Behavior Techniques: 90 questions.
  • Rules, Exploration and Technique Selection: 60 questions.
  • Quality and Defect Prevention: 40 questions.

Two timed mock exams

Each mock contains 45 questions with a 120-minute time limit. Each follows the current official chapter counts of 8, 3, 22, 4 and 8 questions, together with the published learning-objective groups and K2/K3/K4 counts. The two mocks use different conditions and decisions, so you can revisit a skill without merely recalling a changed number.

These are independent practice questions, not official exam questions or recalled exam content. All questions in this course use single-answer multiple choice. The official exam can also include multiple-answer questions and uses weighted points: 51 out of 78 to pass. This course uses equally weighted questions and an author-set 80% practice target. Its score is a study signal, not a conversion to the official result or a guarantee of passing.

How to study

  1. Attempt the focused tests before reading feedback.
  2. For a missed calculation or coverage task, reconstruct the model and check why each alternative fails.
  3. Use the study tip and the current syllabus to revisit the relevant learning objective.
  4. Attempt the mocks under timed conditions, then review weak objectives rather than memorizing answer positions.

The course targets CTAL-TA v4.0. It does not cover the retired English v3.1 syllabus or replace the Foundation syllabus, official study materials or certification eligibility requirements.
