More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing the terminology is only the start of Advanced Level Test Management preparation. The difficult part is choosing evidence, resources and actions when project constraints conflict. This practice course helps you reason through those choices using 360 original English questions aligned with the ISTQB CTAL-TM v3.0 learning objectives.

Each question includes an explanation of the answer, feedback for every distractor and a focused study tip. Scenarios ask you to distinguish a plan from evidence, a pass percentage from release readiness, and an affordable option from one that actually meets required constraints. Calculation questions state the assumptions and units so you can check the reasoning rather than memorize a number.

Six sets with different purposes

  • Planning, Context and Test Approaches — 60 questions: management activities, stakeholders, lifecycle coordination, strategy and SMART criteria.
  • Product Risk and Test Prioritization — 60 questions: risk identification, likelihood and impact, proportionate mitigation and evidence gaps.
  • Metrics, Estimation and Defect Management — 70 questions: denominators, reporting, forecast assumptions, workflow decisions and defect classification.
  • Improvement, Tools, Teams and Business Value — 70 questions: IDEAL, retrospectives, tool lifecycle costs, competence, development and quality-cost calculations.
  • Timed Mock 1 — 50 questions, 120 minutes: mixed management decisions under resource and evidence constraints.
  • Timed Mock 2 — 50 questions, 120 minutes: different mixed decisions involving changed conditions and evidence interpretation.

How to use the course

Work through the focused sets first. After each attempt, explain why your chosen option fits the stated conditions and why the alternatives do not. Use the study tip to revisit the relevant syllabus section, then try a timed mock without checking feedback during the attempt. Investigate every uncertain answer, including correct guesses.

The timed mocks follow the learning-objective group quotas and cognitive-level distribution in Exam Structures & Rules tables v1.19. All questions in this course use a single-answer format. These are study simulations, not reproductions of every official question format or delivery interface.

The official exam has 50 questions, 120 minutes and 88 weighted points, with 58 points required to pass. This platform scores questions equally. The 80% course target is a practice mastery goal, not a conversion of the official weighted pass mark. The focused-set times are learning allowances and can be paused.

This is an independent practice resource, not an official ISTQB course, endorsement or collection of live exam questions. Use it alongside the current syllabus and your own practical experience. It provides practice and explanations; it does not guarantee an examination result.
