More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A privacy scenario can change when the organization, data, purpose or legal process changes. Practice recognizing those decisive facts instead of applying a familiar rule to the wrong situation.

360 original questions in six tests build from focused practice to mixed, timed review. Each question includes an overall explanation, feedback for every answer option and a short review tip. AI was used to assist in drafting and revising the questions and explanations.

Your practice path

  • Foundations and first decisions: 45 questions connecting legal sources, responsibilities and sector boundaries.
  • Information flows and international transfers: 45 questions on vendors, tracking, retention, consent, SCCs and the DPF.
  • Sector laws and workplace privacy: 45 questions on health, finance, education, marketing and employment.
  • State privacy and government access: 45 questions on consumer rights, biometrics, AI, breaches and legal process.
  • Mock exam 1: 90 mixed questions with a 150-minute time limit.
  • Mock exam 2: 90 further mixed questions with a 150-minute time limit.

What changes across the questions

Compare treatment with payment disclosures, a school record with a consumer health record, a processor with an independent controller, and a valid retention exception with one that has expired. Work through state-specific thresholds, remedies and consent requirements without assuming one state's rule applies everywhere.

The scope follows the CIPP/US Body of Knowledge v2.6.1, effective September 1, 2025. Legal references were checked on October 14, 2026. Questions distinguish current obligations from future compliance dates, including the California and Colorado ADMT requirements.

How to use the feedback

  1. Complete the focused sets and explain which fact controls each answer.
  2. For each missed question, compare the correct rule with the rule suggested by the closest wrong option.
  3. Take both timed mocks, then revisit weak areas by organization, data category, purpose and legal procedure.

The focused sets allow 75 minutes each as a training choice. The real IAPP exam has 90 questions in 150 minutes, including 15 unscored questions; all questions here count toward practice results. The 75% practice target is self-set and does not predict IAPP's scaled passing score. The platform practice experience does not reproduce the real exam's locked-half break procedure.

This is an independent practice resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or an official product of IAPP. The questions are original practice material, not recalled or leaked examination questions.
