More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence assisted the drafting of original practice questions, explanations and the cover background. The course is an independent preparation resource and is not affiliated with or endorsed by IAPP.

Canadian privacy questions often turn on a small but decisive difference: a federal bank versus a provincial employer, an instructed processor versus an independent recipient, or a care disclosure versus a marketing purpose. Memorizing an act's name is not enough to choose the appropriate next step. These focused tests help you examine the organization, information, purpose and legal conditions before selecting an answer.

What you will practice

  • Jurisdiction and Privacy Foundations: 60 questions on governmental structure, personal information, privacy principles, international transfers and responsible AI foundations.
  • Privacy Governance and Risk: 50 questions on safeguards, processor oversight, breach assessment and accountable operational decisions.
  • PIPEDA: 50 questions on consent, purposes, lifecycle handling, access and correction, complaints and important statutory exceptions.
  • Provincial Private Laws and CASL: 50 questions on Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta differences, commercial electronic messages and program-installation consent.
  • Public-Sector Privacy and PIAs: 50 questions on the federal Privacy Act, provincial public-body boundaries and privacy impact assessments.
  • Health Information Privacy: 50 questions on health-law applicability, PHIPA consent and rights, health-record stewardship and current Alberta HIA responsibilities.

Each original single-answer question includes feedback for every option, an explanation connecting the facts to the rule, a focused study tip and links to relevant source material. The scenarios are learning exercises, not reproduced or recalled certification questions.

Use the tests as a study path

Work through a topic, explain the decisive condition in your own words, then review both your chosen answer and the alternatives. Use the linked material to resolve a specific gap before revisiting missed questions. Test 1 has a suggested 100 minutes; the other five suggest 85 minutes each. The 80% learning target is a course setting and does not represent IAPP's scaled passing score.

The scope follows the CIPP/C Body of Knowledge and Exam Blueprint version 3.1.0, effective 1 September 2025, with Canadian legal and regulator materials checked on 15 October 2026. Enacted, commenced requirements are distinguished from proposals and uncommenced amendments. These six topical tests are not full-length blueprint-proportioned mock exams. The official exam is a separate assessment; this English course does not promise a particular result or represent an official exam-language offering.
