  • Apply scope, rules of engagement and escalation procedures to authorized testing decisions.
  • Interpret reconnaissance, permissions and vulnerability evidence without overstating access.
  • Evaluate authentication, network, host, web, cloud, wireless and specialized attack prerequisites.
  • Distinguish exploit success, blocked paths, incomplete coverage and remediation evidence.
  • Assess persistence, movement, transfer and cleanup against their required conditions.
  • Review mistakes using individual option feedback and two 90-question timed mocks.

More about this course

AI assistance was used to draft and revise questions, explanations and the cover background. This independent practice resource does not contain official exam questions.

Prepare for CompTIA PenTest+ V3 (PT0-003) by deciding what an authorized tester can do, what a technical observation proves, and what remains unverified. Practice spans engagement management, reconnaissance and enumeration, vulnerability discovery and analysis, attacks and exploits, and post-exploitation and lateral movement.

What is included

  • Engagement, Evidence and Reporting: 40 questions, 80 minutes.
  • Reconnaissance and Discovery: 50 questions, 100 minutes.
  • Attack Preconditions and Technical Findings: 70 questions, 140 minutes.
  • Post-exploitation and Restoration: 30 questions, 60 minutes.
  • Mock 1 — Attack-path Decisions: 90 questions, 165 minutes.
  • Mock 2 — Validation and Changed Controls: 90 questions, 165 minutes.

Every question has an answer rationale, feedback for each option and a study prompt. Questions connect technical conditions to the conclusion: whether a relay prerequisite holds, which identity can access an object, how a scanner's coverage changes, and whether a cleanup action restores intended behavior.

How to use the tests

Start with the focused tests. For each missed question, identify the condition you overlooked before reading the option feedback. Then take the timed mocks without notes. The second mock changes controls, evidence or dependencies so you must reassess the result. Review both wrong answers and uncertain guesses before attempting another timed run.

Each mock uses an author-rounded domain allocation of 12 / 19 / 15 / 31 / 13 questions. The 80% practice threshold is an author choice and has no conversion to CompTIA's scaled passing score.

Format and boundaries

This is an English, multiple-choice practice-test course with 370 questions across six tests. The official exam can include performance-based questions; this course has no interactive PBQs, hosted penetration-testing lab or exploit execution environment. It supplements study of the official objectives and hands-on training, and does not replace them. Tools are assessed through selection, configuration and result interpretation rather than installation tutorials.

The course targets PT0-003, not the retired PT0-002 exam. It is independently produced and is not sponsored, endorsed or approved by CompTIA. CompTIA and PenTest+ are trademarks of their respective owner. No exam pass or employment outcome is guaranteed.
