CompTIA A+ Core 1 220-1201: 460 Practice Questions

Overview

What you’ll practice

  • Choose laptop, cable, memory, storage and power components using compatibility requirements.
  • Distinguish ports, DNS/DHCP functions, wireless capabilities and common server roles.
  • Configure mobile connectivity and identify appropriate device-management actions.
  • Compare virtualization and cloud options using resource and responsibility boundaries.
  • Select evidence-based troubleshooting actions while protecting important data.
  • Prepare for mixed-domain decisions through two 90-question timed study forms.
More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing a component's name is only the beginning. Can you choose a compatible replacement, separate a wireless problem from an addressing problem, or decide what to check before risking a customer's data?

Practice those decisions for CompTIA A+ Core 1 (220-1201, V15) with 460 original questions across six tests. Each question includes a reasoned overall explanation, feedback for every answer choice and a focused review suggestion.

Build your foundation, then mix the domains

  • Mobile Devices and Cloud: 60 focused questions.
  • Networking: 70 focused questions.
  • Hardware: 80 focused questions.
  • Troubleshooting: 70 focused questions.
  • Mixed Mock 1: 90 questions in 90 minutes.
  • Mixed Mock 2: 90 questions in 90 minutes.

The four drills support shorter, untimed study sessions. Their timers are optional. Both mixed mocks approximate the published five-domain weights using 12 mobile, 21 networking, 22 hardware, 10 virtualization/cloud and 25 troubleshooting questions. These are author-created allocations, not an official fixed exam blueprint.

Learn from the evidence

Compare interfaces, capacity and power constraints. Trace the actual service that is failing. Use controlled substitutions to narrow a fault, and distinguish a useful next test from an unsupported diagnosis. Explanations identify why plausible alternatives fail under the question's conditions.

A practical study sequence

  1. Work through the focused drills alongside the official objectives.
  2. Review both incorrect answers and answers you guessed correctly.
  3. Take a mixed mock with its 90-minute timer.
  4. Explain the deciding condition in each missed question before trying the second mock.

The 80% practice target is a study checkpoint. CompTIA reports Core 1's passing score as 675 on a 100–900 scale; a practice percentage cannot be converted into that score.

This course uses single-answer and multiple-answer selection. The real exam has up to 90 questions and includes performance-based questions. These written scenarios do not provide interactive PBQs or replace hands-on practice. A+ certification requires both Core 1 and Core 2; this course covers Core 1 only.

This is independent preparation material, not an official CompTIA product. It contains original practice questions, not recalled or leaked exam items, and makes no pass guarantee.
