CompTIA A+ Core 2 220-1202: Practice Tests

Overview

What you’ll practice

  • Select Windows, macOS and Linux tools by the evidence and configuration task required.
  • Compare filesystem, edition, resource and deployment requirements before changing a workstation.
  • Distinguish authentication, authorization, encryption and device-security controls by their scope.
  • Diagnose software and security symptoms using logs, working comparisons and supported recovery paths.
  • Apply backup dependencies, change windows, safety rules and evidence-handling boundaries to support decisions.
  • Evaluate script and remote-access risks, and recognize AI accuracy, privacy and authorization limits.
More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing a tool's name is a start. Choosing it for the evidence in front of you is the next step. These 402 English practice questions help you compare configuration choices, diagnose software symptoms and work through the conditions that make a support action appropriate.

The course follows the CompTIA A+ Core 2 220-1202 V15 objectives, document version 4.0, including AI basics. It covers Operating Systems, Security, Software Troubleshooting and Operational Procedures.

A focused path, then mixed practice

  • Operating Systems — 80 questions: platform and filesystem requirements, Windows tools and commands, networking, macOS, Linux, application readiness and cloud productivity.
  • Security — 60 questions: access controls, permissions, authentication, malware, hardening, mobile protection, media disposal and browser trust.
  • Software Troubleshooting — 40 questions: use symptoms, logs and controlled comparisons to choose the next supported investigation or repair.
  • Operational Procedures — 42 questions: records, change control, backups, safety, evidence, communication, scripting, remote support and responsible AI use.
  • Two mixed mocks — 90 questions each, 90 minutes each: apply the same knowledge to different evidence and constraints across all four domains.

Every question includes the correct answer, an overall explanation, a reason for every option, and a study tip. Relevant reference links in the question feedback help you revisit the underlying topic. Wrong answers are useful: identify which condition you missed, review that topic, and explain why the alternatives do not fit before moving on.

How to use the tests

Start with the focused drills after studying the corresponding topics. Their suggested times provide a learning pace. Take the mixed mocks without looking up answers, then review both incorrect answers and correct guesses. The mock domain counts approximate the published 28%/28%/23%/21% weights with 25/25/21/19 questions.

The 80% study checkpoint helps you identify topics to revisit; it is not a conversion of CompTIA's 700 scaled passing score. The real exam permits up to 90 questions in 90 minutes and includes performance-based tasks. This course provides single-answer and select-two questions, with scenario practice for relevant decisions; it does not reproduce interactive PBQs. Use hands-on practice and the official objectives alongside these tests. Passing Core 2 alone does not earn A+; Core 1 is also required.

These are independently developed study questions from BrightRung Learning. This course is not endorsed by CompTIA and does not provide recalled exam questions or a pass guarantee.
