  • Correlate endpoint, network, cloud and identity evidence while distinguishing indicators from confirmed conclusions.
  • Choose and interpret analysis tools, log formats, packet fields and safe scripting operations.
  • Evaluate threat intelligence, build testable hunt hypotheses and control AI-assisted analysis risks.
  • Plan authorized vulnerability scans and recognize gaps in scope, access, method and visibility.
  • Prioritize vulnerabilities using severity, exploitation context, likelihood, exposure and business impact.
  • Distinguish containment, eradication and recovery while preserving reliable incident evidence.
  • Create risk-focused reports, clear handovers and consistently defined security metrics.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

When an alert fires, the difficult part is deciding what the evidence actually supports. A suspicious port is not proof of malware, a completed patch job is not proof of remediation, and a confident report is not a substitute for verified facts. These practice questions help you work through those distinctions for CompTIA CySA+ V4, CS0-004.

Practice interpreting logs and tool output, investigating identities and cloud activity, planning vulnerability assessments, comparing risk treatments, preserving evidence and communicating actionable findings. The course follows the four CS0-004 domains, including AI use cases and risks, EPSS, software supply-chain assurance and modern security operations.

Six tests with different purposes

  • Security Operations: 65 questions on architecture, indicators, analysis tools, intelligence, automation and AI.
  • Vulnerability Management: 50 questions on scanning, assessment evidence, prioritization, mitigation and software assurance.
  • Incident Response: 35 questions on frameworks, response stages, triage, evidence handling and controlled recovery.
  • Reporting and Communication: 30 questions on risk reports, ownership, blockers, incident updates, handovers and metrics.
  • Mock Exam 1: 85 mixed questions with a 165-minute timer.
  • Mock Exam 2: another 85 mixed questions with a 165-minute timer and changed investigation or decision conditions.

Each question includes feedback for every option, an explanation of the reasoning, a focused study suggestion and primary-source reading. You will see both single-answer and clearly labeled multiple-answer items. Short log extracts, configuration evidence and safe scripting examples support the analytical tasks.

A practical study routine

  1. Work through the focused tests and identify which evidence or condition you missed.
  2. Read the feedback for the plausible alternatives, not just the correct answer.
  3. Review the suggested topic and explain how a changed condition would affect the decision.
  4. Take the mixed mocks under timed conditions, then revisit your weaker tasks.

The mock tests use the official maximum question count and time limit. Their domain allocations approximate the published weights. They are selectable-answer practice tests: they train judgment relevant to performance-based tasks but do not reproduce interactive PBQs. The 80% practice target is a study setting and does not convert to CompTIA's official scaled passing score.

This is independent practice material with original scenarios, not official exam questions or a recalled-question collection. An endpoint records a login at 10:02 UTC. A firewall records the same session at 05:02 without a timezone field. What should an analyst establish before ordering these events?

Before you begin

  • Familiarity with networking, operating systems and foundational security concepts comparable to Network+ and Security+ knowledge.
  • Some exposure to security logs, vulnerability findings or incident-response workflows will help.
  • No paid lab account or specialist tool installation is required to take these practice tests.

Who this is for

  • Candidates preparing for the English CompTIA CySA+ V4 CS0-004 exam.
  • SOC and vulnerability analysts who want scenario-based practice connecting evidence to decisions.
  • IT security professionals strengthening incident-response and risk-communication judgment.
