More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A research analyst must do more than remember a financial ratio. You need to choose a meaningful earnings base, connect business conditions to cash flows, distinguish a technical signal from a certainty, and recognise when a recommendation lacks evidence or independence. These practice questions help you work through those decisions before attempting the revised NISM-Series-XV: Research Analyst examination.

The course follows the revised examination scope effective 20 January 2026. Its 400 original English questions cover the 15 public units: the analyst profession; securities markets; equity and debt terminology; research approaches; economic and industry analysis; company business and governance; financial analysis; corporate actions; valuation; commodity fundamentals; risk and return; research reports; legal and regulatory matters; and technical analysis.

How the six tests work

  • Four 50-question topic tests build familiarity with instruments, calculations, evidence and practical judgment.
  • Two 100-question mock examinations each use the official chapter weights and a 120-minute limit.
  • Each mock contains 80 standalone questions followed by five case sets with four questions each. Case text is repeated so you can read every question independently.
  • Every question provides the answer, feedback on each alternative, a rationale and a focused revision prompt.

Practise with a purpose

Use the topic tests first. For calculations, write the numerator, denominator, units and time period before choosing an answer. For analytical questions, identify the condition that makes a plausible alternative unsuitable. Revisit the related topic after an error, then attempt a mock with explanations closed and the timer running.

The mock tests use a fixed question sequence to keep each case set together. Their scenarios cover financial statements, valuation, technical evidence, industry drivers and research compliance. Reattempts are useful for learning, but a remembered answer is less informative than explaining why the other choices fail.

Scoring matters: NISM awards one mark for a correct answer and deducts 0.25 for a wrong answer, with a 60/100 pass mark. Udemy's displayed percentage does not apply that negative marking. To make an official-style raw-score comparison, subtract 0.25 times your wrong answers from your correct answers. The course's 60% setting is a practice threshold and does not guarantee examination readiness or a passing result.

This is independent preparation, not an official NISM course or an endorsement by NISM or SEBI. It contains original practice scenarios rather than actual examination questions. The course is taught in English; this statement does not claim a complete official examination-language list. Use current official materials for examination registration and the latest statutory changes.
