  • Distinguish authentication, consent, managed identity selection, and resource authorization in Microsoft Entra and Azure.
  • Choose Key Vault, policy, RBAC, and backup controls using the required operations and scope.
  • Diagnose storage and SQL access by separating network admission, data permissions, encryption, and audit delivery.
  • Evaluate NSGs, private endpoints, Private Link, VPNs, Virtual WAN, and Azure Firewall traffic paths.
  • Apply current AI security boundaries across SharePoint, Purview, Agent ID, Copilot Studio, Foundry, and AI threat protection.
  • Assess VM and container protection without confusing inventory, scanning, boot integrity, and runtime detection.
  • Trace Sentinel event collection, custom ingestion, retention, and automation authorization.
  • Govern Security Copilot workspace access, source permissions, plugins, and agent setup.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A valid identity is not always an authorized identity. A private endpoint does not automatically fix DNS or database permissions. A detected AI risk does not necessarily mean that an agent's unsafe action was blocked. These distinctions are central to implementing cloud and AI security controls.

Prepare for SC-500: Implementing End-to-End Security Controls for Cloud and AI Workloads with 300 original questions aligned to the current Microsoft study guide. Practice how to select controls, interpret access failures, validate protection coverage, and avoid confusing one security layer with another.

Six tests with a clear purpose

  • Identity, Access, and Governance — 50 questions: PIM, Conditional Access, application permissions, managed identities, Key Vault, policy, roles, and backup safeguards.
  • Storage, Databases, and Networking — 50 questions: storage authorization, SAS, encryption, auditing, private connectivity, NSG evaluation, VPNs, and Azure Firewall.
  • Compute, Applications, and AI Security — 50 questions: SharePoint exposure, Purview DSPM, agent identities, Copilot Studio protection, Foundry guardrails and AI Gateway, VM security, and application platforms.
  • Security Posture, Sentinel, and Security Copilot — 50 questions: contextual risk, protection plans, event pipelines, custom tables, retention, playbooks, workspaces, plugins, and agents.
  • Integrated Written Simulation 1 — 50 questions: connect identity, network, application, and monitoring decisions under a 120-minute practice limit.
  • Integrated Written Simulation 2 — 50 questions: apply the same skills to changed constraints, authorization boundaries, recovery conditions, and current service behavior.

Every question includes feedback for each option, an explanation of the decision, and a focused study suggestion. Single-select and clearly marked multiple-select questions test both fundamentals and application of constraints.

Use the tests to diagnose your reasoning

Start with the four domain tests. For each missed question, identify the failed condition: permission plane, role scope, network path, policy mode, effective protection, or evidence coverage. Read the explanation before retrying. Then take the two integrated tests without consulting the feedback and use your results to choose the next topic to review.

The domain tests have self-set 90-minute limits. Each integrated test uses Microsoft's published 120-minute exam duration and a self-set 50-question format. Microsoft does not publish a fixed SC-500 question count or exact item mix on the pages used for this course. The real exam may include interactive components that these written tests do not reproduce. The 80% practice target is a course benchmark, not a conversion of Microsoft's 700-point passing score.

The course follows the current SC-500 scope checked on October 13, 2026, including cloud and AI controls. It does not substitute the old AZ-500 outline. Where services have different plans, preview status, or supported configurations, questions state the relevant boundaries and explanations identify what to verify.

This is an independent practice course and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft. It contains original practice questions, not actual certification exam questions. It supports preparation alongside Microsoft Learn study and hands-on experience; it does not guarantee an exam result.

A technician needs privileged access only during approved maintenance. Which assignment fits?

Before you begin

  • Practical familiarity with Azure administration, including compute, networking, and storage.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and basic Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Read English technical scenarios and compare security controls using stated constraints.
  • No paid cloud deployment is required to take the written tests; a practice environment can support separate hands-on study.

Who this is for

  • Security engineers preparing for Microsoft SC-500.
  • Azure and hybrid administrators moving into cloud and AI workload security.
  • Practitioners who want to diagnose permission, connectivity, protection, and monitoring gaps.
  • Learners who already know the basic product names and need practice selecting the right security layer.
