  • Select useful delivery, flow, quality and recovery metrics under stated measurement boundaries.
  • Design traceable work, documentation and protected Git collaboration across Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Diagnose YAML trigger, dependency, variable, runner and reusable-template behavior.
  • Choose package, test and approval controls that protect reproducible releases.
  • Design progressive deployment, safe database evolution and infrastructure configuration strategies.
  • Apply least privilege, secretless automation and appropriate security scanning coverage.
  • Interpret application and infrastructure telemetry, distributed traces and basic KQL.
  • Apply the five AZ-400 domains in two timed mixed rehearsals and explain why alternatives fail.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A pipeline can be green and still deliver the wrong artifact. A protected branch can still have a weak review rule. A deployment can look healthy until a database change makes rollback unsafe. These are the decisions you will practice here: identify the governing constraint, compare realistic alternatives, and choose a release path that preserves quality and traceability.

The course contains 360 original questions across six practice sets, aligned to the English AZ-400 skills effective July 27, 2026. Scenarios use both Azure DevOps and GitHub and cover all five published domains. Build and release questions receive the largest share of each mixed rehearsal, reflecting the official domain weighting.

Start with focused practice

  • Work Flow, Collaboration and Source Control: 60 questions on metrics, work links, documentation, branch controls, repositories and recovery.
  • Packages, Testing and Pipeline Implementation: 75 questions on feeds, versions, test evidence, YAML, agents, triggers, templates and approvals.
  • Deployment, Infrastructure and Pipeline Reliability: 75 questions on rollout, database compatibility, IaC, configuration and pipeline maintenance.
  • Security, Compliance and Instrumentation: 50 questions on identities, sensitive data, security scanning, telemetry and KQL.

Each question includes an explanation for every answer choice, a reasoning summary and a study suggestion. Use the explanations to identify which condition makes an otherwise reasonable alternative fail. The course distinguishes resource provisioning from guest configuration, release checks from pipeline-authored conditions, and authentication from authorization.

Then attempt two mixed rehearsals

Each mixed form contains 50 questions with a 100-minute timer. Its domain allocation is 12% processes, 12% source control, 54% pipelines, 14% security and 8% instrumentation. The forms apply shared principles under different constraints so that selecting a familiar product name is not enough.

The question count is a course design choice. Microsoft does not guarantee a fixed AZ-400 question count or publish its exact question-type combination. The timer follows Microsoft's general guidance for expert role-based exams without labs; your actual appointment may differ. These choice-format sets do not reproduce live labs, drag-and-drop tasks, case-study navigation or the official interface. The 80% course target is not a conversion of Microsoft's 700 scaled passing score.

Make each attempt useful

  1. Complete a targeted section without reading the answers first.
  2. Review every alternative, including choices you rejected correctly.
  3. Revisit the relevant official documentation and, where practical, apply the rule in your own authorized environment.
  4. Attempt a mixed form and use the misses to choose the next study section.

The course reflects current lifecycle constraints, including planned retirements for Azure Deployment Environments and Automation State Configuration. It is independent practice material, not an official Microsoft exam, and contains no claims of guaranteed passing or reproduced confidential exam questions. Practice questions complement hands-on experience; they do not replace it.

Choose one answer1 of 3

An API team can deploy several times a day. Features normally take less than a day and main must remain releasable. Which workflow best supports these conditions?

Before you begin

  • Familiarity with Git, application builds and basic Azure resource administration.
  • Some experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub workflows; the explanations help bridge between the two.
  • No paid cloud deployment is required to complete these questions.

Who this is for

  • Developers and infrastructure administrators preparing for the AZ-400 exam.
  • Engineers who want stronger release, source-control and pipeline troubleshooting judgment.
  • Azure DevOps and GitHub practitioners reviewing security, test and monitoring decisions.
