  • Diagnose BIND configuration, zone propagation, delegation and DNS security boundaries.
  • Apply Apache authorization and TLS settings, Squid rules and Nginx request handling.
  • Distinguish Samba and NFS identity, authorization, mount and runtime failure conditions.
  • Trace DHCP, PAM, SSSD and LDAP behavior, including schema and attribute access control.
  • Select relevant Postfix, Sieve and Dovecot configuration and delivery checks.
  • Investigate routed filtering, FTP data channels, SSH forwarding and OpenVPN return paths.
  • Use two timed mocks to identify weak objectives and plan targeted review.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Prepare for LPIC-2 Exam 202-450, objectives version 4.5, with 360 original English practice questions. The course concentrates on Linux network services and the decisions that connect configuration, identity, access control and troubleshooting evidence.

Work from mechanisms to mixed-topic decisions

The first four tests contain 60 questions each, grouped into DNS and Apache; TLS, proxies and file sharing; client authentication and LDAP; and mail and system security. Each has a suggested 120-minute practice window so you can inspect feedback and revisit weak areas.

The final two tests each contain 60 questions with a 90-minute limit. They allocate questions to all 21 Exam 202 objectives using the published objective weights. They introduce different configuration or diagnosis conditions, including request rewriting, access-rule order, missing attribute visibility and failed return paths. They also retain necessary checks of basic commands and concepts.

Understand why an answer works

Every question includes an overall explanation, feedback for each option and a focused study tip. You will practise selecting a command, tracing a rule, identifying a boundary and choosing a relevant next investigation. Some questions ask for multiple selections and state how many choices to make.

Know the scope and prerequisites

This course covers Exam 202 only. LPIC-2 certification also requires passing Exam 201 and holding an active LPIC-1 certification. Prior Linux command-line, permissions and networking knowledge is expected; a disposable lab helps you turn mistakes into practical checks.

The official exam uses multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions. This course uses single-choice and multiple-selection practice; commands and configuration values are selected rather than entered into the official exam interface. An 80% course threshold is a practice target, not a conversion of LPI's scaled passing score and not a prediction of passing.

Version-specific questions identify relevant boundaries such as Apache 2.4, Squid 3.5, NFSv3, OpenLDAP 2.4 and Dovecot 2.3. ISC DHCP is included because it remains in these objectives, although its upstream maintenance has ended. Exam coverage does not imply a recommendation to deploy unsupported software.

These are independently developed practice questions, not real exam questions. The course is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Linux Professional Institute. It contains practice tests and explanations; it does not include video lectures or hosted service labs.

Before you begin

  • Familiarity with Linux command-line work, filesystem permissions and basic TCP/IP networking.
  • LPIC-1-level knowledge or equivalent practical experience before working on this advanced services exam.
  • A disposable Linux lab is recommended for independent practice; no hosted lab is provided.
  • Read the version labels and use matching documentation when testing legacy exam examples.

Who this is for

  • Linux administrators preparing specifically for LPIC-2 Exam 202-450.
  • Learners who have studied the service concepts and want structured recall and troubleshooting practice.
  • Administrators revising DNS, web, file-sharing, directory, mail and security service boundaries.
