  • Practice decisions across all six domains in the August 2026 Fundamentals exam guide.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A running Agent does not always mean that every integration is collecting data. A healthy fleet average can hide a struggling host. An alert can detect the right problem and still fail to reach the right team. Preparing for Datadog Fundamentals means learning to distinguish these situations and choose an action supported by the evidence.

The course contains 324 questions in six tests: four focused sets of 36 questions and two mixed mock exams of 90 questions each. The focused sets use a self-set 60-minute practice timer; each mock uses 120 minutes.

These English practice tests follow the six knowledge domains in the August 2026 Datadog Fundamentals Exam Guide: Essential Concepts, Infrastructure Development, Networking & Agent Configuration, Data Collection, Troubleshooting Datadog, and Data Visualization & Utilization.

Build understanding before testing your pace

  • Use the focused practice tests to work through configuration, deployment, telemetry collection, and investigation tasks in manageable sections.
  • Use the mixed mock exams to apply those decisions across the complete scope under a 120-minute timer.
  • Read the explanation for every option, including the alternatives you rejected, to understand which condition changes the answer.
  • Revisit the underlying documentation and try the relevant workflow in an environment you are authorized to use.

Questions emphasize practical distinctions: API keys versus application keys, local receivers versus outbound traffic, cloud integrations versus host-level collection, and filtering versus grouping. Configuration and query reading exercises support the foundational scope without turning the course into a programming or systems architecture examination.

The official exam contains 90 single-response questions, including 75 scored questions and 15 unidentified pre-test questions. All questions in these practice tests contribute to the practice result. Datadog does not publish its passing score or domain weights; the practice threshold and question allocation are learning choices, not an official scoring conversion.
