More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Prepare for the LPIC-1 102-500 exam, version 5.0, through 360 original practice questions focused on the decisions a Linux administrator needs to make. Work through shell behavior, account changes, recurring jobs, locales, essential services, network evidence and secure communication. Each question includes an answer explanation, feedback for every option and a focused suggestion for further study.

Build confidence by topic

The first four tests each contain 60 questions. Use the shell and desktop test to trace variables, startup files, scripts, display components and accessibility choices. Continue with accounts, scheduling and localization, then time, logging, mail and printing. The fourth test brings together networking and host security, including DNS lookup paths, persistent configuration, access controls, SSH and GnuPG.

Check decisions across the syllabus

The final two tests are independent 60-question mock exams with 90-minute limits. Each follows the published allocation across the 19 objectives in topics 105–110. Their scenarios introduce different conditions so that a correct choice requires understanding the task, rather than recalling the wording of a previous question. All six tests use an 80% practice pass mark, chosen for this course; it is not a conversion of LPI’s scaled passing score.

Review mistakes deliberately

Take a topic test, classify mistakes by objective and explain why each alternative fails. Try safe command examples in a disposable Linux environment, then return to the relevant official learning material or tool manual. Save the mock exams until you can justify your choices without looking at the explanations.

This is a choice-question practice course, with no video lectures or guided lab environment. The official exam also includes fill-in-the-blank questions, so practise recalling commands without options. This course covers 102 only; LPIC-1 certification also requires exam 101. It is independently produced and is not endorsed by Linux Professional Institute. The questions are original practice material, not recalled live exam questions, and completion does not guarantee an examination result.
