  • Distinguish directory provisioning, SSO, human federation and workload credential flows.
  • Evaluate effective IAM, inheritance, conditional access and governed privileged elevation.
  • Match network, application and service-perimeter controls to the traffic and data boundary.
  • Compare sensitive-data transformation, query authorization, secret rotation and encryption-key custody.
  • Analyze AI retrieval and tool execution as separate authorization boundaries.
  • Interpret deployment evidence, audit collection and incident findings without overstating what they prove.
  • Map compliance obligations to workload configurations, data copies and bounded evidence.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing a Google Cloud service name is only the start. Security questions often turn on a more precise distinction: whether authentication also grants authorization, whether a private connection is encrypted, whether a scan actually blocks deployment, or whether a log record proves the conclusion being claimed.

Practice those decisions with 360 original English questions across six tests for the Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification. Each question includes an overall explanation, feedback for every answer option, and a focused study tip. The course includes single-answer questions and three select-two questions.

Build the control map before testing it

The first four tests contain 60 questions each:

  • Identity, authorization and organization guardrails: directory lifecycle, SSO, federation, service accounts, effective IAM, privileged access and inherited constraints.
  • Network boundaries and private communications: IAP, firewalls, Cloud Armor, Cloud NGFW, web egress, DNS, service perimeters and hybrid or private API connectivity.
  • Data protection, keys and secure AI: sensitive-data inspection and transformation, BigQuery access, secrets, key custody and lifecycle, Confidential Computing and AI trust boundaries.
  • Security operations and compliance engineering: vulnerability evidence, trusted deployments, hardening, posture drift, audit collection, incident response and requirement-to-control evidence.

Apply the controls in two different mocks

Mock 1: Architecture and controlled rollout asks you to design or validate an appropriate boundary before production changes. Examples include choosing stable federation claims, protecting the definition of an authorized view, and testing external-key dependencies in recovery.

Mock 2: Diagnosis, recovery and evidence asks you to locate the failed layer and interpret what the available evidence establishes. Examples include a valid attestation for an unapproved image, a private API path with an unsupported service, and a SIEM consumer acknowledging messages before durable storage.

Both mocks contain 60 questions with a 120-minute limit. Each uses an author-rounded allocation of 15 identity, 13 network, 14 data/AI, 11 operations and 7 compliance questions, based on the guide's approximate domain weights. These allocations are practice design choices, rather than an official question-by-question blueprint. All six tests use an 80% practice target, which is not a published Google passing score.

Learn from the alternatives

When a question describes a managed service that cannot use its configured encryption key, a human operator's successful key access does not settle the issue. You need to identify the service identity performing the operation. Feedback explains why grants to the wrong actor do not repair that dependency.

Use the focused tests in smaller sessions. Before revealing the answer, identify the condition that decides between the options. Afterward, review incorrect choices as well as the correct one and use the study tip to revisit the relevant topic. Take the mocks under the time limit, then group your mistakes by control boundary rather than memorizing an answer position. A high score after repeated attempts can reflect recall; use your ability to explain the deciding condition as an additional readiness check.

Scope and expectations

The course follows the current official English exam guide checked on October 10, 2026, including privileged access, network inspection and AI security topics. Google does not publish a numbered version or effective date on that guide. The official exam format is 50–60 multiple-choice or multiple-select questions in two hours; this course's timed mocks use the upper end of that range.

This is a practice-question course, with no video lectures, hands-on lab environment or live Google Cloud account included. It supports revision and decision practice alongside study of Google Cloud services and official documentation. It does not promise a passing result or reproduce live exam questions.

BrightRung Learning provides independent preparation. This course is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Google. Google Cloud and certification names identify the subject of study. AI tools assisted question and visual creation; the local content was reviewed and revised before packaging.

Three original single-answer questions from this course. Your answers stay in this page and are cleared when you leave.

Choose one answer1 of 3

An LDAP directory is authoritative for employees and groups. Cloud Identity accounts must reflect directory changes while passwords stay at the corporate IdP. Which design separates provisioning from authentication?

Before you begin

  • Familiarity with Google Cloud projects, IAM, VPC networking and common managed data services.
  • Working knowledge of authentication, encryption, logging and security operations terminology.
  • Ability to read English technical scenarios; a paid cloud account is not required to take the tests.

Who this is for

  • Candidates preparing for Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer who have already studied the core services.
  • Cloud security engineers reviewing design tradeoffs, access failures and evidence boundaries.
  • Administrators and architects moving from service familiarity toward security-focused decisions.
