  • Distinguish SLIs, SLOs and SLAs, and calculate request and time error budgets.
  • Identify toil and evaluate automation using total effort, safety and lasting value.
  • Choose user-relevant monitoring, telemetry and proportionate alert responses.
  • Compare progressive delivery methods and assess automation, AIOps and generative AI limitations.
  • Reason about controlled failure experiments, sustainable incident response and blameless learning.
  • Connect SRE with DevOps, Agile, ITSM, value streams and platform engineering.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing the vocabulary is a useful start. The harder step is choosing between two plausible actions when a service is failing, a reliability budget is running low, or an automation creates a new risk. These practice tests help you work through those decisions with explicit conditions and explanations for every option.

320 original English questions are organized into six tests:

  • Principles, service objectives and error budgets: 60 focused questions.
  • Toil reduction, monitoring and indicators: 60 focused questions.
  • Automation, progressive delivery and learning from failure: 60 focused questions.
  • Organization, incident response and related frameworks: 60 focused questions.
  • Mock Exam 1: 40 questions in 60 minutes.
  • Mock Exam 2: 40 questions in 60 minutes.

The scope follows the current public PeopleCert Site Reliability Engineering Foundation coverage and the English v1.2 update. Alongside the core reliability concepts, you will encounter Foundation-level decisions about progressive deployments, AIOps, generative AI, value streams and platform engineering. The course focuses on reasoning about their purpose and limits rather than memorizing vendor commands.

Use the explanations to improve your decisions

Start with the focused tests. For each missed question, identify the condition that rules out the closest alternative: a customer deadline, a measurement boundary, a safety precondition or an ownership gap. Work through the error-budget and effort calculations yourself before reading the solution. Then use the two mixed mocks to practise switching between topics under time pressure.

Every question includes a correct answer, feedback for each option, an overall explanation and a study prompt. The first four tests are longer training sets; they are not presented as the length of the real exam. The two mocks match the published 40-question, 60-minute structure. The official exam is open book and has a 65% passing threshold. Our practice percentage is a learning checkpoint, not an official result or a prediction of passing. Module allocation and question difficulty are independently designed.

This is independent exam preparation. It is not an official PeopleCert or DevOps Institute course, does not include an exam voucher or official training materials, and does not provide certification. Certification names and marks belong to their respective owners. Use current official exam guidance and your authorized learning resources alongside this question bank.
