  • Distinguish threats, vulnerabilities, risks, and CIA impacts using the evidence in a scenario.
  • Assess authentication, authorization, encryption, and certificate trust boundaries.
  • Interpret network observations and choose suitable segmentation and access controls.
  • Read endpoint permissions, command results, update status, and security logs without overclaiming.
  • Prioritize validated findings and evaluate recovery objectives and backup dependencies.
  • Select appropriate incident escalation, evidence handling, notification routes, and response actions.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Recognizing a security term is easier than deciding what an observation actually proves. A clean scan may exclude the suspicious file. A successful login may still lack application permission. A backup may be intact while its recovery key is unavailable. This course helps you practice those distinctions before choosing a response.

340 original questions in six practice tests cover the current published Cisco CCST Cybersecurity 100-160 objectives. Five focused tests contain 60 questions each, followed by a 40-question mixed knowledge check. The focused tests offer a 90-minute practice allowance; the mixed test offers 50 minutes so you can practice making decisions under a time limit.

What the practice tests cover

  • Security principles: CIA impacts, threats, social engineering, AAA, authentication factors, and cryptographic trust.
  • Networks: protocol observations, address boundaries, segmentation, cloud responsibilities, wireless settings, and ordered access rules.
  • Endpoints: permissions, investigation commands, device-policy evidence, update verification, logs, and malware handling.
  • Vulnerability and risk work: assessment authorization, finding validation, intelligence limits, risk treatment, and recoverability.
  • Incident handling: event triage, evidence integrity and custody, attack models, notification roles, and response organization.

Every question includes feedback for each option, an overall explanation, and a short review tip. Selected technical and compliance topics also include official further-reading links in their explanations. Scenarios ask you to interpret evidence, identify its limits, and choose an action that fits the stated requirements.

A useful study routine

  1. Start with one focused test and answer without consulting the explanations.
  2. Review both your wrong answers and any correct answers you guessed. Write down the condition that changes the decision.
  3. Use the mixed test to revisit those distinctions across domains, then return to your weakest topic.

The mixed test's 40 questions, equal domain allocation, and 80% practice target are course settings, not an official question count, weighting, or passing score. Cisco's exam has variable item counts and performance-based testing. This course provides selected-response knowledge practice and does not include an interactive lab simulator. Questions using NIST's older four-phase lifecycle explicitly identify SP 800-61 Rev.2; Rev.3 is the current publication.

This is independent preparation material. It is not an official Cisco product, contains no claimed real exam questions, and offers no guarantee of passing.

Before you begin

  • Basic familiarity with computers, IP networking, and common operating-system terms.
  • Study the Cisco CCST Cybersecurity objectives or equivalent introductory material alongside these tests.
  • No additional software is required to answer the questions; a safe authorized lab can support separate hands-on study.

Who this is for

  • Learners preparing for Cisco CCST Cybersecurity 100-160 who want structured knowledge practice.
  • Entry-level support or security learners building evidence-based troubleshooting and response habits.
  • Learners who want explanations of both correct answers and plausible security misconceptions.
