More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing an AML definition is different from deciding what to do when the evidence is incomplete, a control fails, or several legal regimes may apply. These practice tests help you work through those decisions and explain why a tempting alternative does not resolve the problem. The focus is on financial-crime reasoning across the four areas of the enhanced CAMS public blueprint.

You receive 360 independently authored questions in six tests:

  • Financial Crime Risks and Methods: 30 questions.
  • Standards, Authorities and Cooperation: 30 questions.
  • Building and Operating an AFC Programme: 30 questions.
  • Technology, Data and Control Tools: 30 questions.
  • Full Mock 1: 120 questions in 210 minutes.
  • Full Mock 2: 120 questions in 210 minutes.

The focused tests let you work on one area at a time. Each full mock uses 36 risk-and-method questions, 24 standards-and-cooperation questions, 36 programme questions and 24 technology questions, reflecting the public 30/20/30/20 domain weights. The two mocks use different conditions and decisions so that your second attempt requires applying principles to new evidence.

Questions include single-answer and clearly labelled multiple-answer formats. Every option has feedback, including the incorrect choices. Overall explanations connect the facts to the relevant principle, and study tips point you towards the topic to review. Scenarios cover correspondent banking, professional gatekeepers, ownership structures, insurance, virtual assets, customer due diligence, reporting, sanctions screening and the responsible use of technology.

A practical study path

Start with a focused test and record why each missed answer seemed plausible. Review the explanation and the relevant topic in your current official study materials. Then take a full mock under timed conditions. Afterward, separate knowledge gaps from errors in interpreting evidence, scope or responsibility. Use the second mock to test whether you can transfer what you learned to changed conditions rather than simply remember an earlier answer.

Legal applicability matters throughout. FATF recommendations are international standards; domestic duties depend on the entity, activity and jurisdiction. Questions that use US bank SAR rules or US sanctions principles identify that context. Technology scenarios emphasise reliable data, justified conclusions, privacy safeguards and workable controls rather than assuming that automation guarantees compliance.
