Review official exam information

Check the provider’s current objectives before booking your exam. This is independent practice material.

  • Distinguish performers, behavior, information, access points and exposed services across the core layers.
  • Compare motivation and strategy concepts using the intent, condition, effect, asset or ability being modeled.
  • Interpret relationship meanings, basic notation schematics and cross-layer support or realization mappings.
  • Separate migration actions, outputs, state changes, architecture states and differences between states.
  • Explain concern-focused views, viewpoint conventions, model kinds and architecture-description models.
  • Review Foundation concepts in two 40-question, 60-minute mocks using the official 60% threshold.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Learn to read the concern behind an architecture statement before choosing an element or relationship. A performer is different from its behavior, an interface is different from a service, and a project output is different from the effect it produces.

This independent English practice course contains 330 original single-answer questions in six volumes: four focused practice sets with 250 questions, followed by two 40-question mock exams. Each question includes feedback for every answer choice, an overall explanation and a focused review suggestion.

What you will practice

The practice covers the current publicly described Foundation areas: basic terminology, language structure, the generic metamodel, relationships, motivation, strategy, business, application, technology and physical concerns, cross-layer modeling, implementation and migration, views and viewpoints, and the certification program.

You will distinguish similar concepts, check provider–consumer and concrete–abstract mappings, interpret simple monochrome notation schematics, and separate architecture facts from the way a view displays them. Architecture-description questions also distinguish stakeholders, concerns, views, viewpoints, model kinds and architecture models.

A practical study sequence

  1. Use the four topic-practice volumes to identify concepts that need review. Their 70% study targets are learning settings.
  2. Compare your reasoning with the feedback for the closest competing answer, rather than reading only the correct label.
  3. Sit each mock separately, closed book, with a 60-minute limit. Each has 40 simple multiple-choice questions and a 60% threshold: 24 correct answers.
  4. Review the reasons for missed answers and return to the relevant official reference material.

The mock length, timing and threshold follow the regular English OGA-031 Foundation examination summary. The questions are independently authored practice, not official examination questions. Foundation focuses on knowledge and comprehension; the course does not use the Practitioner eight-scenario gradient-scoring format. A practice score does not predict or guarantee an examination result.

This course is aligned to the ArchiMate 3.2 language and the current public Foundation scope. It is not an accredited training course, does not award The Open Group certification and does not include an examination voucher. ArchiMate is a registered trademark of The Open Group. The course is independently prepared and is not endorsed by The Open Group.

A regulator introduces a new reporting obligation. The architecture team first records this external condition, before analyzing its impact or choosing a response. Which element fits that condition?

Before you begin

  • Basic familiarity with enterprise architecture terms is helpful; no previous certification is required for Foundation.
  • Use current ArchiMate 3.2 reference material when studying the feedback.
  • No modeling software installation is required for these concept and schematic-reading questions.

Who this is for

  • Candidates preparing for the regular English ArchiMate 3 Foundation OGA-031 examination.
  • Analysts and architects who need to distinguish related concepts when reading architecture models.
  • Learners seeking explained practice before attempting a timed Foundation-style mock.
