  • Predict Java SE 21 compilation, output and exception behavior from explicit conditions.
  • Apply records, sealed types, pattern matching, scope, overload resolution and inheritance correctly.
  • Reason about collection views, wildcard bounds, lambda descriptors and multi-stage stream operations.
  • Distinguish module readability, exports, reflection, service discovery and runtime-image choices.
  • Choose platform or virtual thread APIs and recognize actual completion and thread-safety guarantees.
  • Apply stream ownership, serialization, NIO.2 file operations and explicit localization rules.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing a Java feature by name is different from predicting its behavior in code. These practice tests help you distinguish compilation errors, runtime exceptions, definite results and guarantees that depend on an API contract. Work through Java SE 21 values and control flow, object design, collections, streams, modules, concurrency, I/O and localization.

You receive 321 original questions across six tests:

  • Values, text, date-time arithmetic and program flow: 56 questions.
  • Objects, records, inheritance, interfaces, annotations and exceptions: 55 questions.
  • Collections, generics, lambdas and stream pipelines: 55 questions.
  • Modules, platform and virtual threads, I/O and localization: 55 questions.
  • Two complete mixed-topic mocks: 50 questions each, with 120 minutes per mock.

Every question includes a reason for each option, a worked explanation and a focused review suggestion. Practice recognizing the conditions that change an answer: an immutable snapshot versus a backed view, calendar days versus elapsed hours, static types versus runtime objects, and atomic updates versus visibility alone. Multiple-answer questions tell you how many answers to choose.

How to use the tests

  1. Complete a topic drill and classify each mistake by the rule you missed.
  2. Review the explanations and try predicting a changed boundary case before checking the documentation.
  3. Take each mixed mock in one sitting, then review correct guesses as well as incorrect answers.

The course targets Java SE 21 without preview features and the Oracle Java SE 21 Developer Professional exam, 1Z0-830. The mocks use Oracle's publicly listed 50-question, 120-minute format and a 68% practice passing threshold. The four topic drills use a separate 80% practice target. Topic allocation is our own training design because Oracle does not publish exact domain percentages.

This is an independent practice-test course. It contains original learning questions, not official Oracle exam questions or exam dumps, and it does not guarantee certification results. Java and Oracle names identify the technology and exam; this course is not endorsed by Oracle. It is a question-based resource with no video lessons.

Which outcome follows?

Java SE 21, preview disabled. Save the following as Main.java in the unnamed package; compile with javac --release 21 Main.java and run java Main.

public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { byte b = 120; b += 10; System.out.print(b); } }

Before you begin

  • Familiarity with Java syntax, methods, classes and basic collections; this course is not a first programming tutorial.
  • Ability to read short Java code fragments and reason about compile-time and runtime behavior.
  • A Java 21 JDK is recommended for experimenting with examples; use preview-disabled Java SE 21 settings.

Who this is for

  • Java developers preparing for the Java SE 21 Developer Professional 1Z0-830 exam.
  • Developers moving from older Java releases who need practice with records, patterns, sequenced collections and virtual threads.
  • Learners who want explanation-led code reasoning and timed mixed-topic practice.
