  • Distinguish control categories, functions, and operational assurance gaps.
  • Evaluate authentication, trust paths, identity lifecycle, and effective permissions.
  • Interpret risk, assessment coverage, log evidence, and detection metrics.
  • Select incident, forensic, and recovery actions within stated authority and safety constraints.
  • Evaluate cryptographic trust, networking boundaries, and endpoint, mobile, cloud, and virtualization controls.
  • Identify weak domains and practice pacing with two fixed timed drills.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing a security term is a starting point. SSCP preparation also requires deciding what a control protects, who can authorize an action, and which operational condition changes the answer. These practice tests help you make those decisions across the seven SSCP domains.

350 questions in six practice tests combine short foundation checks with applied scenarios. Each answer choice includes feedback. The overall explanation identifies the relevant rule and applies it to the scenario, while a study tip points to the concept to revisit.

Build your foundation

The four focused sets contain 50, 50, 25, and 25 questions. Start with these to review security concepts and practices, access controls, risk and monitoring, incident response and recovery, cryptography, networking, and system security. Topics include permission inheritance, authenticator recovery, log visibility, custody records, recovery dependencies, certificate trust, wireless access, mobile data, and cloud responsibilities.

Apply the conditions

Scenarios ask you to distinguish an approved change from extra unauthorized settings, an identity assertion from permission to export, and a successful backup from usable recovery. You will also consider safety constraints, incomplete evidence, stale access decisions, and the limits of a detector or encryption boundary. Read the conditions before choosing a familiar control.

Check your pacing

Two fixed 100-question drills allow 120 minutes each. Their author-selected domain counts follow the published weights: 16, 15, 15, 14, 9, 16, and 15 questions. Use the drills after targeted practice, then review every uncertain answer as well as every incorrect answer.

The scope follows the SSCP exam outline effective October 1, 2025. The official exam uses computerized adaptive testing with 100–125 items, a maximum of two hours, and a passing scaled score of 700 out of 1000. These fixed tests do not reproduce CAT or advanced interactive items. The course's 80% review threshold is a study target, not a conversion of the official scaled score.

This is independent preparation material. It is not an official ISC2 course, contains no recalled live-exam questions, and does not guarantee certification. Pair practice with the current official outline, reliable study materials, and appropriate practical experience. Explanations support deliberate review; a correct guess alone does not show that you can apply the rule.

A colleague asks you to conceal an unauthorized export from the incident register to protect a contract. What is the best response?

Before you begin

  • Basic familiarity with operating systems, networking, and security terminology.
  • Prior study of the SSCP domains; these tests supplement a study course or reference text.
  • No paid lab, specialized client installation, or programming environment is required.

Who this is for

  • SSCP candidates seeking structured practice across the seven domains.
  • System and network administrators strengthening security decision skills.
  • Security practitioners reviewing operational controls and evidence boundaries.
