More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Practice the decisions that arise in day-to-day U.S. human resources work: checking legal coverage, evaluating hiring evidence, administering pay and benefits, resolving workplace concerns, and interpreting reliable employee data. These original questions prepare you to apply the HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) content outline through concrete conditions and competing choices.

What you will practice

  • Business management: staffing constraints, stakeholder responsibilities, operating risks, metrics, culture and ethical conduct.
  • Workforce planning and talent acquisition: sourcing, job analysis, interviews, assessments, offers and onboarding.
  • Learning and development: needs assessment, coaching, career development, succession data and training evaluation.
  • Total rewards: payroll calculations, compensation comparisons, noncash rewards and benefit administration.
  • Employee engagement: lifecycle evidence, surveys, performance reviews, recognition and corrective processes.
  • Employee and labor relations: complaints, safety, policy application, federal protections and union or nonunion boundaries.
  • HR information management: accurate records, meaningful reports, access controls and secure employee services.

Six tests with a clear purpose

Begin with a 30-question operational foundations drill, then work through three 30-question drills covering hiring and development, rewards, and employee relations with information management. Each question includes a correct answer, feedback for every choice, a worked explanation and a focused study suggestion.

Finish with two independent 115-question tests, each allowing 120 minutes. Their domain counts approximate the current published seven-domain weights. Use the first timed attempt to locate gaps, study the explanations, and use the second to test your reasoning under changed conditions.

The current official PHR exam has 90 scored questions and 25 pretest questions. This course grades all 115 questions in each timed test. It uses single-response and clearly marked multiple-response questions; it does not reproduce numeric-entry or drag-and-drop interfaces. HRCI reports a scaled score from 100 to 700 with 500 required to pass. The course's 80% practice target is a study checkpoint and cannot be converted into an official passing score.

Use the explanations to build judgment

For each missed question, identify the condition that decides the answer: employer coverage, the hiring stage, an effective date, a pay component, an evidence gap or an available operating alternative. Explain why the other choices fail before repeating the test. Numerical cases specify their periods, units and calculation assumptions so you can work them independently.

The course follows the current 2024 PHR Exam Content Outline, with U.S. federal rules checked on October 13, 2026. Review official sources for legal changes before your examination and check applicable state or local requirements in real work. The scope is U.S. technical and operational HR; SPHR strategy, international PHRi and California-specific PHRca preparation are separate products.

This is independent exam preparation. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by HRCI, contains no confidential live examination questions, and does not guarantee certification or a passing result.
