  • Turn business objectives and application dependencies into measurable data center design requirements.
  • Compare two-tier, EVPN-VXLAN and host-overlay transport approaches against stated constraints.
  • Assess port, media, capacity and failure-domain requirements before selecting a product or layout.
  • Distinguish VRF, RD, RT and VNI responsibilities when reviewing tenant and shared-service designs.
  • Trace DSS/PSM enforcement paths and apply policy-direction, topology and version conditions.
  • Evaluate lossless Ethernet, priority mapping and management-service dependencies.
  • Connect validation evidence, migration controls and design documents to acceptance requirements.
  • Practice architecture decisions in two 70-question, 120-minute mock exams.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

AI was used to draft and revise practice questions and explanations and to generate the cover background.

Prepare for the HPE7-A12 HPE Network Data Center Professional Architect Exam with 320 original practice questions. Build the reasoning needed to turn business goals, application dependencies and operational constraints into a defensible data center design.

The course is organized around the four published exam domains: determine customer requirements, analyze requirements, architect the solution, and prepare and present the solution. Questions address all 18 published subobjectives. Scenarios ask you to distinguish required behavior from assumptions, assess surviving capacity, trace the actual enforcement path, and judge whether validation evidence supports a design claim.

What is included

  • Four focused sets of 45 questions: architecture foundations; connectivity, products and capacity; security, lossless Ethernet and operations; requirements, validation and delivery.
  • Two 70-question mock exams, each with a 120-minute limit and a 66% practice pass mark.
  • Single-response and multiple-response questions with correct answers, feedback for every option, an overall explanation and a study tip.
  • Design scenarios covering spine-and-leaf and two-tier layouts, VSX, EVPN-VXLAN, VRFs, RDs, RTs, VNI associations, host-overlay transport, DSS/PSM, QoS and management dependencies.
  • Review tasks on migration sequencing, recovery reserves, acceptance criteria, documentation, business trade-offs and operational handover.

Use the practice to improve your decisions

Start with the focused sets and review why each alternative fails under the stated conditions. For capacity questions, identify whether the requirement concerns healthy operation, a failure state, a retained critical workload or a single flow. For security questions, trace whether traffic reaches the enforcement point before interpreting the policy. For solution reviews, connect each claim to the tested revision, scope and measurement.

Then take each mock exam in one sitting. The domain counts of 13, 18, 27 and 12 approximate the published 19%, 25%, 39% and 17% weights. They are not an official integer blueprint. Use missed answers to return to the relevant official HPE preparation guide and technical documentation.

Scope and format

The course follows the HPE7-A12 preparation guide, November 2025 Revision 3, checked on October 15, 2026. It is a practice-test course rather than a laboratory environment or a complete substitute for the recommended training. The four focused sets use a self-selected 75-minute limit. Practice scores do not guarantee an exam result.

The official exam includes matching, single-response and multiple-response questions. This course represents matching-style relationships through supported choice questions and does not reproduce the official matching interface. Technical examples state their relevant topology, release or hypothetical capability conditions; they do not establish universal support for every product release.

This independent course is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by HPE or Udemy. HPE and related product names belong to their respective owners. These exercises do not contain recalled, confidential or official examination questions.

Choose one answer1 of 3

A migration has a network lead, an application owner and a sponsor. Who should confirm whether a proposed outage meets application commitments?

Before you begin

  • Working knowledge of Ethernet, VLANs, IP addressing, routing and basic BGP concepts.
  • Familiarity with data center switching and the roles of HPE Aruba Networking AOS-CX components.
  • Willingness to consult the official HPE7-A12 guide and applicable technical documentation when reviewing gaps.
  • No physical switches are required to complete these choice-format practice tests.

Who this is for

  • Network engineers preparing for HPE7-A12 and the Professional Data Center Architect certification.
  • Consultants and solution architects who review data center requirements and design trade-offs.
  • Administrators moving from implementation knowledge toward architecture and validation responsibilities.
