  • Select workflow events, inputs, filters and contexts that match a stated automation requirement.
  • Interpret matrix, dependency, output and artifact behavior to diagnose failed or skipped work.
  • Evaluate JavaScript, Docker and composite action interfaces, packaging and release compatibility.
  • Apply enterprise policies, runner access and correctly scoped secrets and configuration variables.
  • Assess token permissions, OIDC trust, injection risks and artifact provenance before deployment.
  • Compare caching, retention and parallelism decisions while preserving required validation coverage.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

AI tools were used for question drafting and the cover illustration. The practice scenarios were checked against official documentation and revised during preparation.

A workflow can be valid YAML and still deploy the wrong revision, skip a required check, or expose a credential. These practice questions help you identify the condition that changes the answer.

Prepare for GitHub Actions GH-200 with 420 original questions across six tests. Work through four focused practice sets, then assess your decisions in two 60-question mixed tests. Each question includes the correct answer, an explanation of the reasoning, feedback for every option, and a study tip.

Start with focused practice

  • Workflow authoring — 75 questions: events and filters, typed inputs, dependencies, matrices, contexts, service containers, caching, artifacts, outputs, summaries and environment protection.
  • Consumption and troubleshooting — 65 questions: logs and run attempts, failed and skipped jobs, artifact identity, reruns, private access, starter templates and reusable workflow boundaries.
  • Custom actions — 65 questions: JavaScript, Docker and composite actions; metadata, packaged entrypoints, input validation, lifecycle state, toolkit commands, distribution and compatible releases.
  • Enterprise and secure automation — 95 questions: policies, runner groups, network and tool selection, scoped secrets and variables, token permissions, OIDC, provenance and workflow efficiency.

Test your judgment across domains

The two mixed tests contain 60 questions each with a 100-minute training limit. Each covers all five official domains using the published weight ranges. Their scenarios require you to read constraints, compare alternatives and select the relevant repair or control.

The course follows the January 2026 GH-200 skills outline, with behavior and version-sensitive details checked against official documentation during preparation. Generic YAML merge exercises explicitly identify their parser or preprocessing assumptions.

Learn from each attempt

Take a focused set without referring to the answers. Review the reasoning for incorrect and uncertain responses, consult the linked documentation, and try a mixed test when you can explain the boundaries involved. Pay particular attention to similar-looking choices that affect a different resource, credential scope or execution stage.

This is a practice-test course, rather than a video lecture or a hosted lab. The fixed 60-question mixed tests approximate training conditions; they do not reproduce an official fixed question count. The 70% course threshold is a study target and is not a conversion of the official scaled passing score.

Independent preparation: BrightRung Learning is not affiliated with or endorsed by GitHub or Microsoft. These are original practice scenarios, not recalled certification questions. No passing score or certification result is guaranteed.
