DP-900 Practice Tests: Azure Data Fundamentals

Overview

What you’ll practice

  • Distinguish data representations and choose storage approaches using the actual access pattern.
  • Apply relational keys, normalization and SQL rules to concrete examples and common mistakes.
  • Compare Azure SQL deployment options using engine compatibility, instance features and operating-system control.
  • Select Azure storage and Cosmos DB approaches using protocol, retrieval, document and API requirements.
  • Trace an analytics solution through ingestion, transformation, storage, streaming and presentation.
  • Interpret Power BI model relationships, measures, refresh behavior and appropriate visual choices.
More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Know the Azure service names, but hesitate when two answers sound plausible? Build a clearer decision process: identify the data shape, find the requirement that matters, and choose the service or operation that actually satisfies it.

These 322 practice questions address the Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals skills measured from July 21, 2026. Work through focused practice before using two mixed timed sets to check whether you can apply the concepts together.

A clear path from individual concepts to mixed decisions

  • Core Data — 55 questions: structured and semi-structured representations, file formats, transactions, analytical workloads, useful aggregates, and data roles.
  • Relational Data — 55 questions: keys, relationships, normalization, SQL results and boundaries, database objects, and Azure SQL deployment choices.
  • Non-relational Data — 40 questions: Blob storage, Azure Files, Table entities, online and archive access, Cosmos DB document models, and API choices.
  • Analytics — 52 questions: ingestion and transformation, analytical stores, Microsoft Fabric, Spark-oriented processing, streaming, and Power BI models and visuals.
  • Two mixed practice mocks — 60 questions and 45 minutes each: new scenarios and calculations across all four domains, with domain proportions aligned to the published ranges.

Learn the rule behind the answer

Every question includes an explanation for the correct conclusion and feedback for all four options. Short SQL examples test what a statement actually returns or changes. Service scenarios make you compare real constraints such as operating-system control, client protocol, retrieval delay, and data-model requirements. Analytics questions separate ingestion from processing, raw retention from a curated model, and a useful chart from a misleading one.

Use the study pointers and Microsoft Learn references to revisit the underlying concept. After a mistake, explain which condition excluded the tempting option before trying a new question.

How to use the course

Start with focused sessions of 10–20 questions in the areas you find difficult. Review the feedback, revisit the official learning material, and return to the mixed sets when you can explain your choices without guessing from product names.

The two timed sets use our 60-question practice design. Microsoft does not promise that every DP-900 exam has this exact number of questions. The 75% practice target is a revision aid; it is not a conversion of Microsoft's 700 scaled passing score or a guarantee of exam success. The course uses four-option, single-answer questions and does not reproduce every interaction format in the Microsoft exam environment.

This is an independent BrightRung Learning preparation resource. It contains practice exercises, explanations, and study guidance; it does not include video lectures, an exam voucher, or official Microsoft endorsement.
