About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Rebinding an imported function name does not replace every saved reference, and discovering a module's names does not execute its functions. Practise tracking the object, binding and state that actually determine a Python result.

These tests support PCAP-31-03 Certified Associate in Python Programming preparation through code analysis, diagnosis and explicitly constrained repairs.

Trace the state behind the syntax

Questions cover modules and packages, standard-library contracts, exceptions, strings, object-oriented Python, comprehensions, lambdas, closures and file I/O. Scenarios distinguish a new value from a mutation, a retained binding from a later lookup, and buffer capacity from newly read content.

Each alternative has feedback, with an overall explanation and study tip. You can work through why a saved alias still calls the original function, or why a runtime module attribute appears in name discovery without implying a function call.

The 440 original questions are arranged into four 90-question focused sets and two 40-question, 65-minute mixed mocks. Each mock follows the published section item counts of 6/5/8/12/9. Single-answer and multiple-answer tasks are included.

Change one condition after reviewing an error

Use the focused sets in manageable study sessions. Explain the output or failure before checking the answer, then review both selected and rejected options. Run a small changed example in a disposable local Python environment where useful. Take the mixed mocks without notes after revisiting weak topics.

The 70% practice threshold does not reproduce the official weighted scoring system. The extended focused sets are training exercises, separate from the timed mock format.

Basic Python 3 knowledge is expected. The scope is PCAP-31-03; examples use the stated Python 3 conditions, with local checking on CPython 3.12. There are no video lessons, exam vouchers or interactive coding-exam controls. This independent course is not endorsed by Python Institute or OpenEDG and does not guarantee certification.

What Will You Learn?

  • Explain module imports, package initialization, and standard-library input and output contracts.
  • Trace exception handlers, assertion messages, reraising, and finally cleanup.
  • Analyze Unicode text, encoded bytes, string slicing, classification, and searching.
  • Distinguish class state, instance state, saved methods, private names, and inheritance lookup.
  • Follow comprehension order, lambda results, shared closure bindings, and iterator consumption.
  • Diagnose file mode, cursor, lifetime, and bytearray buffer mistakes.
  • Practice two timed mixed exams and use option feedback to guide further study.
