IT Specialist Software Development Tests: Trace Code Logic

About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing inheritance terminology is not the same as tracing a virtual call, and knowing JOIN syntax does not establish which rows remain. These Pearson IT Specialist Software Development practice tests help you follow code, data and design conditions before selecting an answer.

Practise memory, algorithms, control flow, exceptions and debugging, then compare data structures, requirements, version control and secure coding. Object-oriented and web scenarios examine composition, polymorphism, requests, browser state, services and responsibilities. Database questions connect keys, normalization, joins, transactions and access choices with the stated schema.

The 320 questions form four focused 60-question sets and two 40-question, 50-minute mocks. Feedback for every option, a worked rationale and study guidance help you find the mistaken step. Short examples distinguish a displayed Unicode character from its UTF-16 code units and a valid query from one that meets the reporting requirement.

Predict the result during focused practice, review errors and correct guesses, then revisit the relevant concept before attempting a mixed mock. Use your own safe environment for optional exploration.

The scope is the currently linked 2025 objectives, not retired MTA 98-361. Basic C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SQL familiarity is recommended; no installation is required to answer the questions. The mocks use 40 items within the published 35–45 range. This independent resource does not provide an exam voucher or official questions, and its 80% target does not convert to the 700 scaled passing value. What Will You Learn?

  • Trace branches, loops, recursion and exception paths in short programs.
  • Select data structures, test types and lifecycle actions from practical constraints.
  • Distinguish encapsulation, composition, inheritance, overloading and overriding.
  • Diagnose web requests, browser state, service payloads and architecture responsibilities.
  • Reason about keys, normalization, SQL joins, transactions and database access choices.
  • Use two timed mixed mocks to identify objectives that need more study.
