ISTQB CT-PT Practice Tests: Workloads, Metrics & Diagnosis

About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A fast average can hide failed transactions, and a large virtual-user count can still generate the wrong workload. These ISTQB Performance Testing CT-PT practice tests help you decide whether a test and its measurements actually answer the stakeholder's performance question.

Make the workload and evidence relevant

Practise performance dimensions, test types, metrics, lifecycle risks, objectives and planning. Work through operational profiles, task mixes, arrival patterns, script concepts, preparation, execution monitoring and results analysis. Cases distinguish a repeatable benchmark from a representative one and a protocol response from the full user experience.

Each option includes feedback, with overall reasoning and a focused study suggestion. If the goal concerns writes but the benchmark exercises only cached reads, repeatability alone cannot validate the required behaviour. The explanations help you identify a missing transaction, denominator, timing condition or observation before proposing a bottleneck repair.

The 320 questions include four focused 60-question tests and two 40-question mocks with 90-minute timers. Review a weak phase of performance testing, explain uncertain answers, then use a mixed mock to combine planning and analysis decisions without notes.

The scope is CT-PT syllabus v1.0 / 2018. Foundation-level testing knowledge is recommended. These written exercises are not a specific load-tool certification, hosted load-generation laboratory or Performance Engineering course. The 65% threshold is practice feedback rather than a guaranteed result. This independent resource contains no official examination questions or ISTQB endorsement.

What Will You Learn?

  • Choose load, stress, spike, endurance, scalability, capacity and concurrency tests from their objectives and conditions.
  • Define response, completion, throughput, failure and resource metrics with clear units, boundaries and populations.
  • Build operational and load profiles from roles, task intensity, timing, background work and relevant data characteristics.
  • Apply throughput/concurrency models while recognizing their assumptions and practical limits.
  • Evaluate script structure, dynamic context, parameter data, result checks and test-environment readiness.
  • Analyze bottleneck evidence, distinguish hypotheses from confirmed causes, and report results and residual risks to stakeholders.
  • Assess performance-tool compatibility, usable scale, monitoring, integration, team skills and cost.
