dbt Core™ 1.11 Practice Tests: Model, Test & Debug
About Course
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
A compiled model can point at the correct table and still fail because the execution role lacks access. These practice tests for the dbt Analytics Engineering Certification Exam on dbt Core 1.11 help you distinguish location, permission, dependency and data-quality failures before choosing a repair.
Reason about the project, not just the command
Practise DAGs, materialisations, reusable logic and project configuration. Work through incremental models, microbatch, snapshots, Python, contracts, versions and constraints. Testing and debugging cases examine SQL and Jinja semantics, failure thresholds and compiled code; pipeline questions connect freshness, deferral, state selection, clone and retry.
Each option has feedback, with overall reasoning and a focused review suggestion. A successful run is not necessarily proof of current data or complete quality coverage. The explanations help you recognise what a particular result establishes and which further check addresses the remaining requirement.
Turn debugging gaps into targeted revision
The 330 questions include four 50-question topic sets and two 65-question comprehensive tests with 120-minute timers. Start with your weakest project area, explain why the alternatives fail, then attempt a mixed test without notes. SQL knowledge and experience with a dbt project are recommended.
The scope is dbt Core 1.11; later-version behaviours are not silently treated as part of this baseline. These selection questions do not reproduce every official interaction, including DOMC, hotspot or build-list tasks. The 65% practice target is feedback rather than a guarantee of certification. This independent resource includes no official examination questions or vendor endorsement.
