CAMS Practice Tests: AML Risk, Sanctions & Control Decisions

About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

When a transaction looks unusual, the useful question is not simply which AML term describes it. You need to decide what the evidence supports, which obligation applies and who should act. These CAMS practice tests help you rehearse that reasoning across financial-crime risk, standards, programme operations and technology.

Practise decisions that matter

  • Distinguish suspicious economic purpose from a transaction that merely looks unfamiliar, including correspondent banking, ownership structures, insurance and virtual assets.
  • Apply customer due diligence, investigation and reporting principles without confusing international standards with jurisdiction-specific duties.
  • Evaluate sanctions exposure, lawful information sharing and the responsibilities of institutions, authorities and assurance functions.
  • Judge whether screening, identity and monitoring tools have the data and controls needed to support a reliable conclusion.

Every question provides an overall explanation, feedback for each option and a study tip. Use the incorrect-option feedback to identify the assumption that made an answer attractive: the wrong legal scope, an unsupported inference or a control that does not address the stated risk.

Build from focused revision to timed practice

The 360 questions comprise four 30-question topic tests and two 120-question mocks, each with a 210-minute timer. The mocks apply the enhanced CAMS public blueprint's four-domain weights. Start with the topic where your reasoning is least consistent, revisit the relevant principle, then attempt a mock without notes. Use the second mock to work with changed evidence rather than repeat a memorised answer.

This course suits candidates who already have a foundation in AML terminology and want question-based revision alongside their study materials. It includes written practice rather than the ACAMS study guide, eLearning or official simulator. The course's 80% practice benchmark is a study setting, not a conversion of the official passing score. These independent questions are not live exam items or an ACAMS-endorsed resource.
