Splunk Core Certified Power User SPLK-1002: Practice Tests

About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A report can have the right-looking table and still count events instead of summing revenue. Practise checking the measure, row and column dimensions, and time boundary before trusting the output.

These tests support Splunk Core Certified Power User, SPLK-1002, across the current ten-domain blueprint.

Explain the search and its knowledge dependencies

Questions cover chart and timechart, eval and filtering, transactions, field extraction, aliases, calculated fields, tags, event types, macros, workflow actions, data models, Pivot and CIM. Scenarios require you to trace field availability and distinguish normalising an event's meaning from simply renaming a field.

Every option receives feedback, with an overall explanation and study tip. You will inspect why reversing chart splits changes the output shape, and why omitting empty time buckets differs from suppressing null categories or an OTHER series.

The 300 original questions form four focused tests of 56, 38, 40 and 36 questions and two 65-question mocks. Each mock allows 57 minutes for answers; the published 60-minute seat allowance includes a separate three-minute agreement period.

Review the reporting requirement before another command

Attempt the focused tests first. For each error, record the aggregation, identity, time scope or missing input that made your search unsuitable. Revisit the documentation and test a changed condition where possible, then take the mocks without notes.

Mock domain counts approximate the official percentages. The 80% course target is an author-defined learning goal, not an official passing score. The scope uses SPL rather than SPL2 and does not extend into administrator deployment or capacity design.

Basic Splunk search experience is expected. No lab environment or video instruction is included. This independent course is not endorsed by Splunk, does not supply actual exam questions and does not predict certification results.

What Will You Learn?

  • Predict chart and timechart output from aggregation, axis and series settings.
  • Apply eval, search, where and fillnull while preserving the intended data and Boolean conditions.
  • Choose transaction or stats and interpret session boundaries, duration and member counts correctly.
  • Validate FX extractions and distinguish field aliases from calculated-field normalization.
  • Use tags, event types, macro arguments and workflow actions for reusable analysis.
  • Build and interpret data model datasets, Pivot fields and CIM mappings.
