About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Lower inventory can improve one cost measure while making a service promise impossible to meet. A faster route can move goods without resolving ownership, insurance or clearance responsibilities. Practice weighing these connected constraints for CIPS Level 6 Global Logistics Strategy, L6M10.

Connect the network with the business requirement

Compare central and regional stock, freight choices, pipeline costs, distribution centres and postponement. Examine 3PL and 4PL responsibilities, shared disruption risks and contingency readiness. Cross-border questions separate goods movement from contractual duties; reverse-logistics scenarios ask whether recovery routes, economics and implementation resources fit the intended outcome.

The 360 original questions are organized into four focused 60-question sets and two adapted 60-question, 90-minute mixed sets. You can work on a single constraint first, then judge how it interacts with the rest of a logistics decision.

Follow the reasoning through the trade-off

Every question includes an overall explanation, feedback for every option and a review tip. Calculations state their assumptions. Contractual and regulatory scenarios specify their context instead of treating one rule as universal. After answering, name the service, cost, responsibility or recovery condition that rules out the nearest alternative.

Prior Level 5 procurement study or equivalent knowledge is helpful. Use the focused sets alongside your study resources, then take a mixed set without notes.

The timed sets convert matching-style scenario decisions into individual single-choice or multiple-response questions. They use equal weighting and a 70% study target; they do not reproduce CIPS's matching interface or scenario weighting. This independent course follows the L6M10 scope labelled 2018 Syllabus, Version 2 and has no CIPS endorsement.

What Will You Learn?

  • Evaluate inventory positioning and transport choices against complete cost and service constraints.
  • Assess tiers, logistics-provider mandates, distribution-centre capabilities and postponement feasibility.
  • Select disruption responses using dependency, capacity, qualification and recovery-time evidence.
  • Distinguish global reporting, local decision rights, goods movement, ownership and contractual risk.
  • Identify the separate roles of governing law, dispute forums, clearance duties and cargo protection.
  • Evaluate reverse-logistics routes, recovery value, service scope, resources and implementation barriers.
