Microsoft SC-200 Practice Tests: Security Evidence Decisions

About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A missing query result can mean missing collection rather than no activity. A response request can be only partly complete. Prepare for Microsoft Security Operations Analyst, SC-200, by distinguishing observed evidence, supported capability and justified action.

Follow the investigation and response chain

Practice Defender XDR and Sentinel configuration, permissions, collection, analytics, incidents, response and threat hunting. Scenarios include KQL results, time boundaries, detection rules, data-lake workflows, graphs, notebooks and Sentinel MCP within the skills scope effective October 21, 2026.

The 480 original questions include four 80-question study sets and two 80-question, 100-minute comprehensive assessments. Use the study sets in manageable sessions before combining environment, incident and hunting decisions.

Validate support before changing filters

Every question includes option feedback, an overall explanation and a study tip. Separate detection from incident handling, choose built-in automation where it meets the requirement, and check an action notification's supported origin before widening its filters. A successful test action does not prove every downstream event is covered.

Security-operations, Defender, Sentinel and basic KQL familiarity are recommended. No paid cloud environment is required for the tests; hands-on operations practice remains separate.

The 80-item length and 75% threshold are course choices rather than a fixed Microsoft question count or conversion of its scaled passing score. These selection exercises do not reproduce interactive labs. This independent resource contains no recalled exam items and has no Microsoft endorsement.

What Will You Learn?

  • Choose Defender XDR and Sentinel automation, notification, permission, and security-control settings for stated requirements.
  • Configure telemetry collection, retention, workbooks, and analytics while distinguishing data availability from detection results.
  • Investigate email, identity, endpoint, cloud, and Purview evidence before selecting authorized response actions.
  • Interpret action status, incident classifications, entity relationships, and investigation boundaries without overstating the evidence.
  • Select advanced hunting tables and reason about KQL filtering, joins, aggregation, nulls, and time windows.
  • Apply threat analytics, graph, data-lake job, summary-rule, notebook, and Sentinel MCP concepts to hunting tasks.
