AZ-305 Azure Architect Practice Tests: Design Trade-offs

About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Two Azure architectures may both work until a recovery target, identity boundary or network requirement rules one out. These AZ-305 practice tests help you recognise that decisive constraint and explain why the closest alternative does not meet it.

Compare designs in their business context

You will practise identity, monitoring and governance decisions; relational, document, file and analytical storage choices; availability and disaster recovery; and compute, integration, migration and network patterns. Cases require you to separate a backup from regional recovery, a resource log from guest operating-system evidence, and an available service feature from the permission or routing needed to use it.

Every answer choice has feedback. The overall explanation and Microsoft Learn reading guidance help you revisit the design principle behind a missed or guessed answer. Instead of memorising a service pairing, identify which requirement excludes each alternative and consider whether the choice would change under a different constraint.

Move between focused and mixed practice

The 300 questions include four focused tests with 40, 50, 40 and 70 questions, plus two 50-question mixed tests with 100-minute timers. Start with a weak domain, review its reasoning, then use the mixed tests to practise combining decisions across domains.

This course suits learners familiar with Azure subscriptions, identities, networks, storage and compute. No paid Azure account is required. The timed tests are author-designed study exercises; they do not reproduce labs, every official interaction or a fixed official item count. The 80% threshold is a review target rather than a conversion of Microsoft's scaled passing score. This independent resource contains no official exam questions and is not endorsed by Microsoft.

What Will You Learn?

  • Choose monitoring, identity, authorization, and governance designs at the right scope.
  • Compare relational, document, file, object, and analytical storage options against workload constraints.
  • Distinguish availability, backup, logical recovery, and regional disaster recovery decisions.
  • Select compute, messaging, API, configuration, and deployment patterns for Azure applications.
  • Plan migration and network paths using dependency, security, performance, and cutover evidence.
  • Use timed practice and per-option feedback to identify architectural decisions that need review.
