GitHub Actions GH-200 Practice Tests: Workflow Decisions

About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Valid YAML can still deploy the wrong revision, skip a required check or expose a credential. Prepare for GitHub Actions GH-200 by tracing what a workflow actually does across events, dependencies, execution contexts and permission boundaries.

Read the workflow as a chain of decisions

Practice authoring triggers and matrices, consuming and troubleshooting workflows, implementing custom actions, and managing enterprise runners and secure automation. Scenarios distinguish artifact identity, reusable-workflow interfaces, runner authorization, scoped secrets, token permissions and deployment controls.

The 420 original single-answer questions include four focused sets and two 60-question, 100-minute mixed tests. Work on authoring, troubleshooting, custom actions or enterprise governance before combining the five exam domains.

Identify the value consumed at each step

Every question includes a reasoning explanation, feedback for every option and a study tip. Read cron fields in their actual order, inspect a matrix object's selected member, and follow the credential or resource scope required by a downstream action. Compare why a plausible repair changes the wrong stage.

Git, repositories, pull requests, basic workflow YAML and CI/CD logs should already be familiar. A GitHub account helps with optional practice but is not needed to answer the tests; no hosted lab is included.

The course follows the January 2026 skills outline. The fixed 60-item forms and 70% target are training choices, not a published fixed exam count or conversion of the scaled passing score. These are original independent scenarios without GitHub or Microsoft endorsement.

What Will You Learn?

  • Select workflow events, inputs, filters and contexts that match a stated automation requirement.
  • Interpret matrix, dependency, output and artifact behavior to diagnose failed or skipped work.
  • Evaluate JavaScript, Docker and composite action interfaces, packaging and release compatibility.
  • Apply enterprise policies, runner access and correctly scoped secrets and configuration variables.
  • Assess token permissions, OIDC trust, injection risks and artifact provenance before deployment.
  • Compare caching, retention and parallelism decisions while preserving required validation coverage.
