Databricks ML Associate Practice Tests: Workflow Decisions

About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Saving a model does not preserve every input needed to reproduce it. Registering a version does not establish its serving configuration. Prepare for Databricks Certified Machine Learning Associate by practicing the decisions that connect training data, experiments, model lifecycle and predictions.

Follow the workflow from data to inference

Work through platform and runtime choices, features and MLflow, preparation and statistics, training and tuning, evaluation, and deployment. Questions combine algorithm and metric reasoning with Databricks-specific responsibilities, including feature lookup, registration, request contracts and batch or streaming inference.

The 318 original questions include four focused tests and two 48-question, 90-minute mocks. The first mock combines build-and-release decisions; the second introduces changed evidence and recovery constraints.

Find the missing reproducibility record

Every question includes option feedback, an overall explanation and a study tip. Trace preprocessing, calculate a metric, check an access identity, or determine whether the training-data version can still be recovered. Explain why storing code, dependencies and an artifact does not reconstruct overwritten input rows.

Python, supervised-ML basics and some familiarity with Databricks notebooks, Spark DataFrames and MLflow are recommended. No cloud account is required for the questions, and a sandbox is not included.

The scope follows the linked guide live as of March 1, 2025. Version-sensitive terminology is identified where needed. Mock allocations approximate the published domain weights, and the 80% study line is not an official score conversion or pass prediction. This independent course has no Databricks endorsement.

What Will You Learn?

  • Choose reproducible ML workflows and distinguish code promotion from model promotion.
  • Design governed feature keys, updates, training lookups and feature-aware scoring inputs.
  • Interpret MLflow run evidence, model versions, tags, aliases and access boundaries.
  • Compare distributions and prepare missing, categorical and log-transformed features without leakage.
  • Select algorithms, tune objectives and estimate cross-validation cost under realistic constraints.
  • Evaluate classification and regression errors in the units and operating conditions that matter.
  • Diagnose batch, streaming and serving contracts, including row alignment and canary routing.
