CREST CPSA Practice Tests: Evidence and Security Decisions

About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A scan rating does not establish business impact, and one valid account does not provide complete internal knowledge. Prepare for the CREST Practitioner Security Analyst written assessment, CPSA, by checking what a finding supports, which prerequisite matters and what the authorized scope permits.

Connect the technical foundations

Practice engagement principles, networking, information gathering, infrastructure, Windows, Unix, web technologies, application and web testing, and databases. Supplementary course topics also address containers, macOS, monitored network architecture and Group Policy or security templates identified on the public certification page.

The 360 original questions are organized into four 30-question focused tests and two 120-question, 120-minute comprehensive mocks. The focused sets isolate common reasoning tasks before you apply them across the written syllabus.

Inspect the boundary behind each answer

Every question includes feedback for every option, an overall explanation and a study suggestion. Review the permitted activity, supplied information, execution identity or observed response. Explain why more scanning is not necessarily evidence of an attack path, or why partial access differs from both black-box and full-disclosure testing.

Basic TCP/IP, Windows, Unix and web-application knowledge is recommended. No specialist client is required for the tests; any separate practical work must use an authorized lab or approved system.

The main scope follows V2.5, and mock domain allocations are course-designed. The 60% mock benchmark and 70% focused-study benchmark guide review rather than predict a result. It is independent of CREST and covers written preparation, with practical CRT training separate.

What Will You Learn?

  • Interpret network discovery, scan responses and service evidence without overstating findings.
  • Apply engagement scope, safe working, evidence handling and clear reporting principles.
  • Distinguish Windows, Unix and database identities, permissions and execution contexts.
  • Analyse web input, authentication, authorisation, sessions and interpreter boundaries.
  • Review container, macOS, network monitoring and Windows policy controls as supplementary topics.
  • Practise a 120-question, 120-minute written assessment and diagnose mistakes using detailed feedback.
