About Course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

A matching hash does not reconstruct an undocumented handoff, and a suspicious request does not prove that an attack succeeded. These CHFI 312-49 practice tests help you choose acquisition methods and interpret artifacts without making conclusions stronger than the evidence.

Work through forensic science, ethics and authority, evidence integrity, investigation methodology and tool selection. Scenarios involve operating systems, mobile devices, databases, email, networks, cloud, IoT and OT. Short logs, hexadecimal, Python and SQL examples ask you to consider source scope, volatility, clock uncertainty and the difference between a tool capability and a demonstrated result.

The 360 questions are arranged into two 30-question cross-domain practice sets and two 150-question, 240-minute mocks. Every option has feedback, with an overall rationale and a focused study task. Cases link communications, approvals and resulting actions rather than treating an isolated sender label as an evidence chain.

Start with the shorter sets. State the acquisition constraint or corroborating observation before answering, review the relevant topic, then attempt a mock before reading its feedback. Revisit weak objectives before using the second mock.

The scope is CHFI Exam Blueprint v4.0; training-courseware version numbers are separate. Basic file-system, networking and technical-reading familiarity is recommended. This independent selected-response resource supplies no commercial forensic software, practical lab or official training eligibility. The 80% target is self-set because the real cut score varies by exam form; it does not guarantee a result or grant certification.

What Will You Learn?

  • Choose acquisition methods using volatility, source scope, consistency and operational constraints.
  • Distinguish content integrity, evidence authenticity, legal authority and chain-of-custody records.
  • Interpret file, memory, log, registry, mobile and database artifacts with stated platform assumptions.
  • Build timelines using timezone, clock uncertainty, source identity and event deconfliction.
  • Corroborate network, web, cloud, email and malware effects rather than equating alerts with proof.
  • Assess deletion, encryption, carving, concealment and tool limitations without promising impossible recovery.
  • Apply eDiscovery, quality assurance and forensic reporting principles to reproducible findings.
  • Practice the CHFI Blueprint v4 subdomain allocation in two original 150-question timed mocks.
