- Predict the results of short Python programs by tracing types, expressions and changing values.
- Identify mistakes involving branches, loops, indexing, slicing and shared references.
- Explain how arguments, return values, scope and exception handling affect program behavior.
- Use four topic banks and two timed mock exams to identify uncertain topics and plan focused PCEP-30-02 revision.

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
Know Python syntax, but still find yourself guessing what a program will do?
Turn that uncertainty into focused practice. Work through 600 original PCEP-30-02 questions: 540 topic-based questions and two 30-question mock exams. Use the explanations to understand the rules behind your answers. Find out where your reasoning breaks down—and what to review next.
Focused revision first. Fresh timed self-checks next.
- Python Fundamentals — 135 questions: types, operators, expressions, number representations, input and output.
- Control Flow — 135 questions: conditions, loop boundaries, nested loops, break, continue and loop else.
- Collections and Strings — 135 questions: indexing, slicing, lists, tuples, dictionaries, shared references and string operations.
- Functions and Exceptions — 135 questions: arguments, returns, scope, recursion, basic generators and error handling.
- Two mock exams — 30 questions and 40 minutes each: mixed self-checks across all four syllabus areas, included in the 600 questions.
- Explanations for all four options: understand why the right answer works and where plausible alternatives go wrong.
- More than output prediction: choose a repair, find a counterexample, compare implementations and check boundary cases, using single-answer and multiple-answer questions.
The four larger sets are study banks. Use practice mode and work in sessions of 15–30 questions rather than attempting an entire bank in one sitting. Save the two mock exams for later, when you want a fresh timed self-check.
Learn from the choices that fooled you
A wrong answer is useful when you can explain the mistake. Our feedback connects each choice to the rule being tested: whether a slice includes its endpoint, which objects share a reference, when a function returns, or which exception handler runs. Instead of memorizing an answer, practise predicting what would happen if one part of the example changed.
A practical way to use the tests
1. Choose a topic you find difficult and answer a short practice session before running any code.
2. Review mistakes and lucky guesses. Read the explanations for the alternatives, not just the correct choice.
3. Follow the review suggestion, try a small example in Python 3, and change one condition to test your understanding.
4. Complete one mock exam without notes. Review the gaps it exposes, then use the other for a fresh timed self-check.
The banks revisit important ideas through different tasks and conditions. The aim is to reason through a new example rather than remember a familiar answer. First-attempt mock results help you decide what to study next; repeated attempts also reflect familiarity.
What you will practise
- Programming and Python fundamentals: values, types, operators, expressions, input and output.
- Control flow: conditions, loops, iteration boundaries, break and continue.
- Collections: lists, tuples, dictionaries, strings, indexing and slicing.
- Functions and exceptions: arguments, return values, scope and exception handling.
Is this course right for you?
It is designed for learners preparing for PCEP-30-02 who have already studied introductory Python, and for beginners who want to check their understanding after a first Python course. You need basic familiarity with variables, conditions, loops and functions. A Python 3 interpreter is recommended for reviewing examples; no paid development tool is required.
This is a practice-test course with written explanations, rather than a complete beginner video course. The questions are independently created, not official or recalled exam questions. The course is not affiliated with or endorsed by Python Institute. It targets PCEP-30-02; check your intended exam version before enrolling. Practice scores are study feedback, not a guarantee of an official exam result; Udemy's question formats and scoring differ from the certification exam.
