Overview
What you’ll practice
- Select data connectivity and storage modes using the actual source and workload requirements.
- Diagnose profiling, type, transformation, merge and loading issues in Power Query.
- Trace DAX aggregation, context transition, filter changes, time calculations and model-grain consequences.
- Compare calculation-group, model-calculation and visual-calculation responsibilities.
- Configure report interactions, navigation, export, accessibility, mobile and paginated consumer behavior.
- Evaluate Copilot narratives, page authoring and semantic-model summaries against their evidence and prerequisites.
- Apply workspace, item, model and row-security boundaries to distribution and refresh scenarios.
- Use focused feedback and timed mocks to plan targeted revision.
More about this course
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
Practice the decisions behind a reliable Power BI solution. This English practice-test course follows the PL-300 skills effective April 20, 2026. It is intended for learners who already understand basic Power BI authoring and want to connect data preparation, semantic modeling, report design and secure distribution. Questions use business requirements, observed results and configuration evidence so that the conditions matter as much as the feature name.
The course contains 440 original questions across six tests:
- Prepare the data: 80 questions.
- Model the data and use DAX: 90 questions.
- Visualize and analyze the data: 100 questions.
- Manage and secure Power BI: 70 questions.
- Two mixed mocks: 50 questions each, with 100 minutes per mock.
The focused tests provide study allowances of 100, 110, 120 and 90 minutes respectively. They are longer learning sets, designed for reviewing one domain before moving to mixed practice. The mocks use domain mixes of 28%/28%/26%/18% and 26%/26%/30%/18%, within the current published domain ranges. Their fixed 50-question length is an author choice; Microsoft does not publish a fixed PL-300 question count. The course's 80% practice threshold is a revision target and is not a conversion of the official 700 scaled passing score.
You will compare Import, DirectQuery and the two Direct Lake paths; inspect data-quality evidence; select appropriate transformations, keys and grains; and reason about relationships and DAX evaluation context. Model questions include aggregation, time intelligence, semi-additive results, calculated objects, calculation groups and performance evidence. Report questions cover interactive state, accessibility, mobile layout, paginated output, visual calculations and current Copilot authoring and summary boundaries.
Service scenarios connect workspace and item permissions with app audiences, gateways, source credentials, refresh, subscriptions, endorsement and sensitivity labels. They distinguish a successful operation from the access or data outcome the business actually needs. Numeric and expression questions ask you to trace results rather than rely on a familiar label.
Every question includes a correct selection, an explanation for every option, an overall explanation, a short review suggestion and relevant further-reading links in the question feedback. Start with a focused test, review the conditions you missed, then attempt a mixed mock without notes. Some foundational principles recur as consolidation across tools or consumer requirements; the course does not claim 440 independent mechanisms.
These are single-answer and select-two practice questions. They do not recreate interactive exam tasks, official scoring, partial-credit rules or exam navigation. No PBIX project files, paid capacity, cloud lab, exam voucher or instructional video course are included. A Power BI subscription is not required to take the tests. The material is independent, is not endorsed by Microsoft, and does not contain recalled examination questions. Practice results identify revision needs; they do not guarantee certification.
