  • Distinguish LEED certification, personal credentials, organization roles, prerequisites, credits, and review evidence.
  • Select a suitable rating-system family and apply version, scope, and project-boundary reasoning.
  • Use integrative assessments and stakeholder input to evaluate interacting project goals.
  • Evaluate sustainable locations, travel demand, habitat, rainwater, heat, light, and resilience strategies.
  • Compare water and energy options using stated quantities, operating conditions, and monitoring evidence.
  • Assess life-cycle impacts, sourcing declarations, reuse opportunities, and waste-management decisions.
  • Evaluate ventilation, lighting, sound, thermal comfort, nature connections, and inclusive access.
  • Practice the current 100-question, 120-minute format and interpret practice scores without confusing them with official scaled scores.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Prepare for the LEED Green Associate exam based on LEED v5 with 360 original single-answer questions. Work through the fundamentals in focused sets, then apply them in two full-length timed mock exams. Questions combine factual recall, project scenarios, evidence checks, and short calculations.

What is included

  • Four focused sets of 40 questions each, with a 60-minute practice allowance per set.
  • Two mock exams of 100 questions each, with a 120-minute time limit matching the current exam's question-and-time format.
  • A reason for every answer option, an overall explanation, and a short study tip for every question.
  • English-language practice across the eight current knowledge domains.

Practice the decisions behind the terms

Distinguish project certification from a personal credential, mandatory requirements from optional credits, and applicable project rules from an exam-version change. Evaluate site constraints, usable transport connections, water quality and demand, energy loads and controls, material evidence, reuse, and occupant experience.

Scenarios ask you to identify missing evidence, compare options under stated conditions, and diagnose why an intended benefit was not achieved. Calculations include water volumes, travel demand, energy intensity, carbon contributions, and simplified life-cycle costs. Numerical exercises provide their assumptions; they do not replace professional project calculations.

A practical study sequence

  1. Complete the focused sets to identify gaps in LEED process and integrative planning, location and site strategies, water and energy, and materials and indoor environmental quality.
  2. Read the explanations for both correct and incorrect answers. Record the rule, assumption, or evidence you missed.
  3. Take the first mock without consulting notes. Review mistakes by domain before attempting the second mock.
  4. Use the current official candidate handbook and exam references alongside this practice. Repeated scores can reflect memory, so explain your reasoning rather than rely only on a percentage.

Version and scoring boundaries

The course was checked against the September 2026 candidate handbook and current LEED v5 materials on October 10, 2026. Both mocks cover all eight domains. Their distribution incorporates the published allocations for 85 scored questions plus 15 additional teaching questions; the official distribution of unscored questions is not published. All 100 questions in each course mock count toward its practice result.

The course's 80% target is a learning benchmark. The official exam uses a scaled passing score of 170 on a 125–200 scale; this is not a published raw-percent conversion. Practice results cannot guarantee an exam pass or reproduce the official exam's difficulty or scoring.

Choose one answer1 of 3

A project needs independent verification of its LEED application. Which organization performs certification review?

Before you begin

  • Ability to read technical scenarios in English.
  • Basic arithmetic for percentages, unit conversions, and simple totals; a calculator can help during study.
  • Introductory exposure to green-building concepts is helpful. Use official exam references to build knowledge alongside these tests.
  • No paid project software or building-site access is required for these practice questions.

Who this is for

  • Candidates preparing for the current LEED Green Associate exam based on LEED v5.
  • Students and early-career professionals in architecture, engineering, construction, facilities, and sustainability.
  • Learners moving from older LEED study materials who want practice with current scope and version boundaries.
  • Project-team members seeking foundational judgment across green-building topics rather than LEED AP specialty depth.
